If an external mouse does not work correctly, you may need to install device drivers for it. Windows does not support all 'mice' just by plugging them in. Download and install the drivers for the mouse from the manufacturers web site. Do NOT do a factory recovery for a device driver problem.

Type in "SPSS install guide" and there is much help available. You will need the activation code from your school, once you install the software.

I do not believe there is. It is dependent on a proximity switch in the display. You should contact lenovo for a factory authorized repair before your warranty expires.

Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact. Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you.   1. Turn off all applications currently using the drive. Otherwise Windows will prevent you from ejecting the DVD tray
  2. Hold Windows + E on the keyboard to open File Explorer
  3. Click the DVD drive icon and click the "Eject" button on the toolbar or right-click on the optical drive and choose Eject from the menu that pops up or down.

If you bought the Lenovo at a local dealer, take it back to them. If you bought it through an online dealer, I recommend you track down Lenovo customer support.

Restart your computer & start tapping f/8 immediately and keep tapping until black screen comes up. Use the arrow keys to select safe mode the press enter. It will start up in safe mode in each corner, the icons are all out of shape and a help window will open. Close that window. Then go to: Start, Accessories, System Tools, right click System Restore & send to desk top.(The reason to do that will be to use it easier ANYTIME you have a problem.) Then do a system restore back to a time before you had the problem. That should resolve it. If not you will have to do a Recovery after saving everything you want to keep on a Flash Drive. It's a mechanical problem with the wiring and contacts along the edge of the screen. No "fix" except screen replacement.
