Powder dispenser lid
When you close the lid you need to press down (into the door) and then it will stay closed.
Pump Runs On After Water Is All Drained Out?
If the cycle does not stop draining that is usually because of a faulty
water level switch that controls the water level in your appliance.
The faulty sensor cause the machine to think that there is still water inside, even when water has drained completely.
Check if the floating sensor is stuck or faulty.
Some machine may use a membrane switch instead of a floater.
Is there a way to
OK, I think I have figured this out. Let me first give this important piece of information. The control panel for my dishwasher was replaced recently. That's why I now have to deal with this issue. I have a Bosch SHY66C model. As I stated in a previous post, the user manual I found on the web has identical structions for changing the amount of rinse aid dispensed and for changing the volume on the cycle completion beeper (or for disabling it). Following the instructions fixed the former.
Here is what I did
1) With dishwasher off, I pressed and held the "Delay Start Hours" button
2) I pressed the on/off button. The beeper begin to sound.
3) I released both buttons (not sure this step is necessary)
4) I repeatedly pressed the "Delay Start Hours" button until the signal turned off
(LED display showed 0)
5) I pressed the on/off button (not sure this still is necessary)
That seems to have fixed the problem. So, I don't know if the user manual is wrong or my control panel was replaced with one from a different model (such as the SHU9950 where I found these instructions).
Specks of "sand-like" food on my dishes; water not draining
I bought a replacement filter and that dramatically cut down on the amount of "specs." Now there are only a few in some of the glasses. I also cleaned out the drain underneath the screen, there were peas and corn in there, I just used a shop vac to **** them out. Seems to be much better now, I think a good inside cleaning of the washer will help out too. Hope this helps...
Dishwasher leaking from top of
The round hole with a grate on it located mid-way up the right-hand side inside the dishwasher must not be blocked by any tall items in the lower dish rack.

Water not going in
This is a little late for the OP. But, I had the same problem over Thanksgiving of 2008. I searched online and saw that other people had the same problem, but there were no solutions posted. So, I paid $130 for a service tech to come fix the problem - maybe this will save you some time and money.
The solution was simple...pour boiling water (I boiled about a half gallon of water in a cooking pot) straight into the pump where the water sprays out of. You don't have to pull your dishwasher out and no tools are needed. Just open the door, pull out the lower roller tray, remove the bottom spray fin (just pull straight up), and pour the boiling water straight into the hole where the bottom spray fin was attached to. Next, put everything back in place, push the Power switch on, select a wash mode, and close the door. The dishwasher should start spraying water inside as usual.
The service tech told me that there are only two pumps in this dishwasher...one to pump the water in (the one that had the problem) and one to pump the water out. When you don't use the dishwasher frequently, the seal in the wash pump seizes up (sticks together). You can hear the motor humming, but the pump isn't able to send the water up into the spray fins. By pouring boiling water into the pump, it helps to break that stickiness and allows the pump to start sending water up into the spray fins. The solution is to run your dishwasher at least once a week. Even if you don't have much to wash, run a rinse cycle to let all the parts move and stay loose.
One other tip the tech told me is to pour a cup of white vinegar into the pump when you go away on vacation and the dishwasher won't be used for a week or more. This should keep the seals from sticking together. I haven't tried this yet.
Hope this helps.
Not totally draining
Try these:
Check sink drain and drain hose for restrictions
- Unjam the motor
- Unjam the pump
- Check the drain valve
- Check the drive belt
- Test the timer motor
- If you have a brand new dishwasher or garbage disposer, check the knock out plug on the garbage disposer.

Bosch Diswasher SGS4012GB/13
First check the machine is getting electricity (and the problem isn't a blown fuse!)
A very likely cause is that the solenoid on the inlet valve has gone. Rarer possibilities to consider are water turned off at the mains, a blocked inlet strainer (where the inlet hose mates with the valve), or a problem with the programme controller.
The inlet valve is near the top of the machine, and is the thing the hose from your outside water supply screws into. The solenoid is the electrical bit that clips onto the top of the valve body.
I suggest you go out to your local appliance spares shop and buy a replacement solenoid for not much, fit it and see what happens. It is possible to do a series of tests to confirm first that really is the problem - but with the solenoids being cheap, I'm inclined to suggest not messing around with test gear, water and mains electricity.
When replacing the solenoid, make really sure the machine is unplugged from the electricity supply.
Usually best to take the top panel off to gain access (try taking the trim across the back of the top panel off, then sliding the panel off backwards).
Disconnect the cables from the old solenoid. Prise it off the valve body. Snap the new one on in its place and refit the cables (it doesn't really matter which way round they go, but one way will probable look neater than the other).

Bosch SHU9915UC Dishwasher - wash cycle won't happen
hi there your dishwasher has gone into flood protection mode ie. water has leaked into the base and activated the float switch.
to try and locate the leak tip your d/w back to drain the water from the base then remove both side panels and start a program to see if you can see where the water is leaking from, being careful not to touch anything while the d/w is running as live parts are exposed
hope this is of some help
Dish water won't start
hi,
you shouldn't have to pull the washer out, the fuse that may be the problem should be located in the door with the control board. there should be some screws around the door to remove it. however, the fuse may need to be special ordered. also make sure the power is off to the unit before you work on it.
Diswasher Leaked, now Won't Work
if you see a float inside of the dishwasher make sure its cleaned well.that float tells the control board when to drain and to fill with water.the symptom you descibe tells me its trying to drain, make sure the float moves freely.if you dont have a float you will see a metal probe clean that up as well.try this and if it doesnt fix the sensor may be part of the drain body and it has failed(leaking).
Shu9915uc dishwasher wont drain
it should have water just below filter tray, if it does not actually empty then you have a blockage ,remove left side panel to gain access to drain pipe and side chamber.

No water in dishwasher
You need the check the water level switch which is located on the diaphram of the water fill assembly. This is located on the laft side of your machine behind the metal panel. if this switch sticks it will not allow water into the machine
