Won't run. Sounds like the pump is running, but no

Check the water inlet valve first.

The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. First Check to see if the valve is getting water. Make sure it’s not clogged. There is a screen on the inside of the valve, this sometimes gets clogged up with debris. Check to see if you get power to valve when unit is put into operation may take a couple minutes to start a fill. If you have power and it’s not clogged up replace the valve .If you have no power to the water inlet valve check float switch. This can be done by checking the continuity. There is a video of this at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html this will walk you checking the water inlet valve and the float switch. It may be a different model but the testing procedure will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations for most models.

Dishwasher will not drain- just replaced old, clogged garbage dis

Hi, If your dishwasher drain line is attaching to the disposer than you'll need to insure the "knock out" in the disposer upper end bell where the drain connect's is indeed knocked out. You can do this by removing the d/w drain at the disposer, then reaching in with a long screw driver and with the palm of your hand give it a quick firm punch. Once the knock out pop's out you'll need to reach in the garb and remove the piece of plastic from the knock out. This is a common step overlooked, so if that is the only problem don't be embarrassed, I see it at least once a month or more. Let me know if I can assist you further. Thanks for coming to "fixya" for your solution's. If you found this helpful please allow a second for a positive rating, if it wasn't helpful let me know and I'll try to expand on possible causes and remedies. Good luck. macmarkus :)

Our Bosch DLX series dishwasher slowly fills up when it isn't

Hi, the problem is the water valve itself. Based on your description and the fact that this is a common issue with Bosch dishwasher's a new valve will resolve the problem. You'll need a new valve assembly part # 425458 and it's available at most part's places or online. It is about $25 - $30. Let me know if I can assist you further. Thanks for using "fixya" for your inquiry. Please take a second and rate the info provided for you here. Good luck. Macmarkus :)

Will not drain in drain cycle

If you can hear the pump attempting to pump the water out, disconnect the dishwasher drain hose and place a bucket underneath it and run the drain cycle again. This should clear any clogs along the drain line and prove that your pump works. While you've got it disconnected, remove the air gap vent and clean it. A small, but large enough amout of debris can be blocking the flow of water from the dishwasher's drain hose to the garbage disposal or drain pipe. The air vent has a small cap at the top that can be removed to make cleaning easier by simply flushing it with water.

Maytag performa dishwasher PDBL390AWB - dirty dishes

The problem is hard water. Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com and get their new product. It filters the water and takes out the hard minerals that cause spots and clog dishwashers. It is very affordable and has a money back guarantee.

Use to be quiet, now

Hi, yes the noise can be caused due to calcium build up. If you have a home depot near by or similar hardware store get some limeaway or calcium remover. Put a pint in the dish washer and run a pots and pans cycle. The problem with vinegar is it does not do a very good job when diluted. Joe

When I turn on my SHU9915UC dishwater the drain

It is best atleast to get a better idea of the problem by running the diagnostic on the dishwasher. I cannot find a manual for it on the internet but there is a diagnostic routine that might be helpful.

SHU 991x/992x (Integra) MODELS
To start test program, press and hold both POWER SCRUB PLUS and REGULAR WASH program buttons, then turn unit on by pressing ON/OFF button. When program buttons are released, lights above them will flash. To end test program, press ON/OFF button.

To check program indicator lights (POWER SCRUB PLUS, SCRUB WASH, REGULAR WASH and RINSE & HOLD), press and hold each program button. When SCRUB WASH program button is pressed, CLEAN light also comes on andan audible tone (beep) also occurs.
To start testing, press both POWER SCRUB PLUS and REGULAR WASH buttons a second time.

When testing has ended and a fault was detected, the following indicator lights will be lit:
POWER SCRUB PLUS = Heater fault
SCRUB WASH = Water filling fault (over or under filling)
REGULAR WASH = NTC (temperature sensor) fault note circulation motor stops shortly after it started during an NTC fault
To check for heater, high limit or flow switch problems, start testing until heating starts. Using a meter with a current coil, measure current going into dishwasher. If current is ~ 11 A, then heater, high limit and flow switch are OK. If current stays at ~ 1.5-2 A, then heater, high limit or flow switch are faulty.
If water level switch (f1) has failed (opened), SCRUB WASH light will come on and unit will continually fill and drain where testing won't be completed. If flow switch (e5) has failed (opened), water won't heat (to 150F) and water wont stop circulating. If NTC probe (f2/f4) has failed (opened), REGULAR WASH light will come on immediately and testing will end shortly after water has started circulating.
If more than one fault occurs, more than one light will be lit.

This will atleast confirm if the water fill valve or the water float is the problem. (maybe it is thinking it is already full).

Please do drop a comment to tell if this diagnostic works.

Does not seem to let water in. we took the screen

Hello. There are two components that control water flow into the dishwasher. Check them both and you will locate your problem
Water-inlet valve The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. If this valve is defective, you need to completely replace it. It's usually located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the device with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it. Float switch The float switch is a small electrical switch that's located right below the dishwasher "floor." Above the switch, on the inside of the dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills the dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets caught or trapped in the raised position, the water can't enter the dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it.
Regards, Joe

My bosch dishwasher isn't cleaning the dishes

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. First of all please check the Water temperature by using a thermometer inside the dishwasher to measure the water temp. It should be as close to 125 degree F to 140 degree F as possible. Now try using the temperature boost feature if your dishwasher is equipped with this cycle feature and check if this will help your wash ability issues.

Now check the Powder soap by making sure that you store your soap in a dry environment and it is not stale and clumping together. Possibly try a different detergent like a liquid or gel. Also, make sure the dishes are loaded properly, or dishwasher is not overloaded.

To check the proper filling dishwasher will fill with water up to and around the heating element. If water is more below the heating element, you may have low water pressure or a problem with the fill valve. Try & listen if it sounds like it is spraying the water around with enough pressure.

For low water pressure, try to clean the screen at the entrance of the fill valve, sometimes the fill valve can fail and not allow the proper water into the dishwasher and may need to be replaced. And, check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks. Also make sure that the water is draining and is not accumulated in the dishwasher, if it is in dishwasher then check for clogged drain hoses and drain pump.

Low water fills are a very common trouble maker with today's dishwasher.

Please do rate this solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Water keeps backing into the dishwaser when its

Your drain hose height could be to high up. Try lowering the level of the hose. Shorter distance the less amount of water is remaining in the hose after pump stops. If the problem continues, check the valve that open and closes the water supply and drain and make sure it is closing. Probably just drain eighth.

Shx43a09uc/46 will not heat water

Found wire diagram next to left front leveling screw with instructions for checking out the no-heat problem. Solved by finding a overheated solder joint on the control printed circuit board which caused loss of signal from the control to the heater.
Use caution when removing the control from the door position as the plastic snap locks break quit easily.
Obviously this solder joint had developed enough heat to melt the solder and finally was destroyed by electrical arcing; if this is true and the excessive heat continues, resoldering may not be the final answer to the problem but may require a new circuit board design.
