Are you please able to confirm what exactly is happening when you mention "dishwasher just keeps going".

Is it in a wash cycle and throwing the water around through the wash arms or do you just hear a pump running with water sitting in the base. Most likely there is a leak into the base and the auto stop circuit is trying to empty the dishwasher by running the drain pump. I would suggest you check the base of dishwasher for leaks.

Bosch SHX46A05UC/30 runs for 4 hours.

The circut board in the biege plastic case under the buttons on the right has what is called a cold solder. In other words the solder melts under operational use. Some are repairable and some are not. 1. UNPLUG DISHWASHER or turn off breaker and test for electricity. 2. Remove screws from door panel. 3. Take pic of position of wires going into plastic box.4. Remove top section of plastic box with buttons exposing small circut board. 5. Open plastic box exposing large circut board and in the middle of it you will see a black spot where the solder has popped. Resolder and reassemble OR replace old circut board and then reassemble.A new circut board is about $135 Usually electrical parts are not returnable

the unit will try to complete the last command it was engage in before it went in the overfill safety mode. you must perform a cancel drain cycle to reset unit to default setting. Remember the drain cycle is 2 min and must be completed to reset main control. however if it went into a overfill status you have a leak and it generally comes from the pressure chamber on the lefthand side of unit where the water enters tub If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/marlon_56d9a24f02585258

Dishwasher motor runs (even with door open), but no Water

I believe the problem is in the electronic board. It is getting a different signal thus not allowing it to run properly. You can have a local service technician for the company look at it but this is probably the cause.

We heard our bosch dishwasher just running last

Hi

The issue seems to be with the float switch assembly that is bad and should be replaced. Float assembly is found inside the dishwasher's tub, on the bottom. The water that fills your dishwasher lifts the float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher. A defective switch may interfere with your dishwasher's filling and/or draining ability. Use your voltmeter to test the switch. Set the device to the ohms setting x 1. Take each probe and touch them to one switch terminal each. This should produce a reading of either zero or infinity. Continue to touch the probes to the terminals, and press down on the switch's button. The reading should change to the opposite extreme. If your switch fails either of these tests, you should replace it. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

How do I turn off the beep?

Hello,

This means that the Dishwasher has detected a condition it needs to check. Press "Cancel" to clear the display if any and to stop the beeping sound, then try turning the Dishwasher off and on again. If you still see the "sound," turn off the power to your Dishwasher and wait five minutes before turning it on again.

Good luck.

Doesn't seem to be getting

Hi,

If there's no / less water entering your dishwasher, check these:

1. Water-inlet valve
2. Float switch

Water-inlet valve
The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. If this valve is defective, you need to completely replace it. It's usually located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the device with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.

Float switch
The float switch is a small electrical switch that's located right below the dishwasher "floor." Above the switch, on the inside of the dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills the dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets caught or trapped in the raised position, the water can't enter the dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it.

Note - If the Machine is Under Warranty, it is advisable to Call the Manufacturer as the above Procedure might Void the Warranty, if any.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Bosch shx46ao5uc takes 3 hours to cycle. Whats the

Hello and welcome to Fixya.

If it is taking 3 hours to complete a cycle as you stated, I would counter that with a question. Is the water entering the machine hot or relatively cold ?

If it is cold, this will be a major factor in the unit taking a very long time to complete a cycle. Each time the unit has to fill the heater must then heat it until satisfied ( usually 85degrees celcius) , this can take 5 minutes or 15 minutes each time depending of course on the inlet temperature, hence extending the cycle by potentially an hour or more ( a normal time is typically 90min to 2 hrs. )

You can try running the hot water at your sink tap to insure the cold water is out of the lines just before you turn on the dishwasher. If it is what I suspect, the control, this won't make any difference but it's worth a try.

If on the other hand the water is good and hot entering the machine, you likely have an issue with the control. repairclinic.com carries them as part # 1102296 at a retail price of $185.65US. as I type this today May12,2010

however, I have a suggestion as to identifying the culprit, thus confirming or dismissing the cause...

since the issue with your Bosch dishwasher potentially lye`s within`the electronic timer/control as I alluded to, specifically the heater relay solder joint. You'll need to access the control for a visual inspection ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ). This is possibly one of the reasons why it runs for 3hrs unless pressing the two buttons for "cancel".

To inspect and possibly repair your unit It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board. This will be one of the pins from the heater relay, hence the unit runs & runs ( because it can`t heat to advance or until canceled ) trying to heat the water.

**Further to this, if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on there behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)**

**Please disconnect the power before attempting any service to the dishwasher. If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro, preferably one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau, to service your machine.**

Hope this answer`s your question's, let me know if I can assist you further. I will look for your reply in regards to the water temp question I had.

Thank`s for visiting "fixya" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness to you and leave a testimony if you're satisfied.

Good luck.

Dishes do not clean same detergent and rinse no change to amount

The problem is hard water. There is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. It filters the water before it enters your dishwasher. It works amazing and has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look after the first load. It is also very affordable (like 70 bucks). Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com to find out more info.

The pump attached to the end of the motor shaft inside the tub may have broken. If it doesn't spin the water wont pump out but usually the water wont spray on the dishes either. Watch it run a second with the door open and the door switch make to see if it's spraying.
