Bosch Dishwasher Model SHU5316UC-06 -- what does
2H is not exactly an "error code", but it does indicate a problem. It means that the machine exceded its wash time by more than 2 hours. This is usualy caused by a failure of the heater, most often caused by a failure of the controll. Remove the control from the door, remove the plastic housing from the control, and check for a bad solder joint on the heater relay.
If you find a bad solder joint, REPLACE the controll.
Or call a qualified service person.
NOTE: The SHU53A dish washer with serial numbers from FD8205 to FD8507 are included in a factory recall. If your dishwasher is one of these contact BSH @ 1-800-586-9226 24/7.
No water pressure in dishwasher
bosch shu5312uc upper spray does not spin. pours water through the center section thus not propelling the arm. any ideas? should the upper arm have any o-rings
My bosch dishwasher control panel displays 0H on
check to see if your unit has a recall on it because if it does you will get a free control module from bosch.
your problem is the control module. thermador .com is the site to lookup. gaggenau, bosch, thermador they are the same ccompany. let me know if this helps by sending a 4 thumbs up post
The buttons, when pressed no longer do what they are supposed to.
There are little nylon/plastic tabs that provide the 'spring' to the pushbuttons behind the front panel. After a while these get brittle probably due to heat buildup from the heat of the D/W. You can buy a replacement panel at the local Bosch D/W repair center. I've replaced mine about every 2-3 years. Seems like a poor design and they never make it any better. Nothing you did. Next problem you will have is the D/W just runs and suns. This is a defective solder joint on the Electronics board controlling the heater.
Water will not drain. Do not know if its a drain
Drain out is done via the pump out motor. Is the pump out motor working? Check by deternining with a AC voltmeter to see if supply voltage is across the terminals in pump out mode. If voltage is present and motor does not spin - the motor is open circuit and must be replaced. Remove the 2 clamps and the 2 electrical push on terminals with the MAINS voltage disconnected. Is the outlet pipe not blocked or obstructed ?
Washing cycle wont complete
I had the same problem. Called the repair man, who said it was a defective control board. He ordered a new one, replaced it and now the problem is fixed.
How do I replace the
The easiest way I found to replace the valve is to pull the dishwasher out of opening and lay it on its back. When it is on its back you can get at the valve no problem.
The water is not draining from the bottom of the
In short, repalcing the pump is fairly easy and cost effective to do as you have the correct part, make sure that you replace washers and gaskets in the correct places and make sure thatt he wiring is correct and the hoses are secured.
Also
Do the following.
- Switch off the machine, unplug or disconnect the mains power to the machine and turn off the water supply to the machine.
- Remove the filter and make sure that the filter is not blocked and is clean and clear of all debris. Clean as required. Note that if the machine has stopped and not fully drained then you may be able to drain out the excess water by removing or disconnecting the waste hose and laying it on the ground in a tray. It may take a few minutes to empty but it will save a small flood.
- Proceed by checking the drain hose for proper connection and kinks and make sure that it is not blocked or restricted.
- Also check that the main waste drain pipe and one way valve to a sink waste connection if you use one, is not blocked and clean if required.
- Access the pump from under the lower rotor arm and protective grille and check that the impeller is free to move and is not clogged or restricted by debris or sludge. Clean as required.
- Reconnect the power and switch the machine on.
If the problem persists then do the following.
7. Switch off the machine and disconnect the mains power. It is a good idea to take digital pictures of the pump assembly before attempting to work on it or remove it so that you can refer back to it when you reassemble the unit or replace it with a new unit at a later date / time.
8. Remove and check the electrical connections to the pump and make sure they are in good order.
9. Remove the connecting hoses, and expect water to drain out and make sure the pipes are not blocked with debris or any object blockage. If they are then clean them thoroughly.
10. Then remove the pump and check motor is OK and that the motor turns OK. Also check that the pump impeller vanes are in good order and not blocked. If necessary replace the pump with a new and identical unit.
11. Carefully reassemble the pump observing the correct placement of gaskets, seals, O Rings, hoses and securing straps, electrical wiring.
12. Reconnect the hoses and then reconnect power and switch the machine on.
Timer runs down to one minute and does not
Debbie, there is a Bosch recall covering a number of units sold up until about 2006. Mine is not covered however has exactly the same symptom caused by a defective cold solder joint on the power control for the unit. The symptom you describe is identical. Go online to Bosch.com to determine if your unit is covered and the necessary action. Several of these units caught fire casuing the recall however mine as mentined had teh same defct yet was not included in the recall.
If your unit is an older model like mine which has ever been serviced prior to 2005 it is also possible that the recalled parts were installed during a service procedure
I was able to repair my board myself prior to their recall however BOSCH's official policy is replacement parts only if covered by recall or not.
My bosch 5316 runs for over 2 hours. any ideas?
This is typically caused by a heater/heating fault, but not necessarily the heater. It is much more likely poor solder on the control for the heater relay. If you are proficient with electronics, or willing to dig deeper it is a repairable solder contact...usually, but you must be able to solder. If not the replacement part is a BT-266746.
Having said that, I'd think you'd be best served by me if I suggested you call a tech in your area, preferably a bosch (b/s/h) authorized servicer.
Hope this helps, give me some feedback so I know if we can help further.
Good luck
Error code 2H
The control panel needs to be replaced (indicated by the "2H" error code displayed at the start of the cycle).
BTW - The number 1 displayed at the end of the cycle indicates the cycle has timed out (i.e., it doesn't mean 1 minute remaining). Hence the continued running of the unit. Until you replace the control panel, you'll have to manually cancel the cycle at this point.
How do you fit the upper spray arm to the back of
The upper spray arm does not fit on the back of the dishwasher. There is a separate "Extra Tall Item Sprinkler" piece (about a 3-4" round gray piece that looks like a shower head) that mounts in the back of the dw.
Note that this option is only to be used with the top rack removed (i.e., for washing tall items in the lower rack). Refer to page 37 of the Use & Care Manual that came with your dishwasher.
