Bosch dishwasher SHX46A -cycle runs too long (4

It sounds like there's a problem with the dishwasher's heating element. The dishwasher uses the heating element to heat the water to certain temperatures, and it will wait (run for extra time) for the water to reach this temperature, and may eventually give up. When it's time to dry, the dishwasher uses the heating element to steam dry the dishes. If you're not technically savvy, you will probably need to have a pro work on the machine, but first check to make sure there's not hard water scale buildup on the heating element. If you're brave enough to work on the machine, you should check to see if the element's plugged in, check its resistance to make sure it conducts electricity, check the element's switching components, and finally the dw's computer board. There's a chance that the machine is just stuck in a loop or something. You should try turning off the circuit for a few minutes. There's a chance it may reset and start working.

Bosch dishwasher model SHX46A why does the on/off switch and lights stay on while the dw stopped running?

The dw was not quite running. It does pause between cycles. The power scrub cycle means that you had the machine on the longest of all cycle choices. There's almost always a light and a normal cycle. The pots and pans cycle is a power scrub option. Yes all the lights would be on until they switched to a different part of the cycle. Do you have a DRYING light? That would be the one to look for as far as the dw being finished. :)

Hello, welcome to FixYa.Based on your postit may just be a loose/burnt connection in the dishwasher junction box or a severed wire in the door panel. (though a faulty door latch is possible...I'd start with the things I suggest here first)** I would start by first shutting off the breaker...safety first**Then removing the kick plate ( access panel at the bottom )...macmarkus_133.jpg...and checking the wiring at the junction box for the dishwasher 120vac supply line. Remove the murret's and visually inspect the wire for "resistance burn" and strip the wires back and install new fastener's if necessary to repair. example:60f6a31.jpgThis is actually quite common to find a wire connector come loose due to improper fastening and once the unit is in use for a while the connections heat & cool, become loose from normal operating vibrations and burn up from all the added heat caused by "resistance". Typically this will manifest in just the manner you've described. If it looks OK there I'd remove the outer door panel ( careful the edges are sharp ) via the #20 torx head screws...macmarkus_168.jpg...check for a severed wire at the pivot point in the door, typically covered in a plastic casing as shown here...macmarkus_169.jpgThe small plastic blocks which may be present in the bottom corners of the door panel, i.e.macmarkus_170.jpg ...they can be a pain to re-install, but they do only go in one way, however it is ok to leave them out...their only purpose is to strengthen the structure. Good luck and let me know what you find and I'll try to assist you further if necessary. Thank you for choosing FixYa today for your inquiry.Regards,Macmarkus :)

BOSCH Dishwasher Model # SHX46B06LIC/14 Has

Hi

If the water inlet valve is fine and it fills with water then the issue seems to be with the float switch assembly that is bad and should be replaced. Float assembly is found inside the dishwasher's tub, on the bottom. The water that fills the dishwasher lifts the float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher. A defective switch may interfere with dishwasher's filling and/or draining ability. Use voltmeter to test the switch. Set the device to the ohms setting x 1. Take each probe and touch them to one switch terminal each. This should produce a reading of either zero or infinity. Continue to touch the probes to the terminals, and press down on the switch's button. The reading should change to the opposite extreme. If the switch fails either of these tests, you should replace it. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Machine is not filling and

Hi

When the Dishwasher is not filling in, you'll need to check for the water inlet valve, the filter screen and the float switch/assembly. Also check for the float assembly inside the dishwasher. When water is filling your dishwasher, a float rises along with it. As the float reaches a certain threshold level, it shuts off the flow of water, thereby preventing a leak. Sometimes the float can get stuck in the wrong position in your dishwasher, and it can prevent your dishwasher from filling. Sometimes it can happen due to float valve and on other occasions due to float switch. Inspect the water hose coming to the dishwasher for any blockages. If these are fine then it's due to Water Inlet Valve. Use a multimeter and check for the continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance. Daniel

Leaves a white chalk on

Hi White film deposits are observed if water is hard or when you are using more detergent than needed, try filling detergent cup half way. Try using white vinegar after the wash cycle is complete, run a complete cycle. Also turn down the heat on the hot water fed to the dishwasher. Try using water softener for better results. You can also add vinegar in the final rinse cycle. Make sure that your soap dispenser drawer is opening and closing fine.Hope this helps... Please post back if more information is required. Daniel

Bosch dishwasher model SHV6803UC/12 - washing

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

I`ll start by letting you know there are many things which can manifest in the manner you`re describing...or even how one interprets what you`re describing.

Having said that are you referring to water in the tub or in fact the "pan" also known as overfill basin ?

**before performing any repairs please turn off the power to the dishwasher...safety first**

In either case I would instruct you to start by checking the drain hose where it is connecting to your home plumbing...i.e. under sink or into food disposer/garberator. for kinks or obstructions.

Also remove the filter assembly and check for food or soap deposits clogging the sump assembly.

**ultimately it may in fact be a faulty drain pump not pumping the adequate volume of water for the time allowed...but I certainly would check the drain first**

That is by far and away the most common cause behind the problem you are describing...based on my understanding as I mentioned.

Let me know if indeed this was helpful or not and we can move forward from here.

Either way thank you for choosing FixYa today. I`ll watch for your reply.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

The dishes do not rinse properly--despite rinse

run some calcium lime and scale remover throught the unit on an empty wash cycle just to get rid of any build up that may be there.
turn the rinse aid down to about half way.
also check the phosphours content of you washing agent.
there is a lot of factor involved with leaving film on the dishes, it could also be residual soap content that is sticking to your dishes.
reduce the amount of soap a little.does not matter if it is liquid or powder.
once every three months you need to run cleaner through the machine.
last thing but very important make sure the incoming water temp i no lowe rthan 120 degrees.

My Bosch shx46A05UC no longer will drain.....it

I ran into the SAME problem with my Bosch SHX46A06UC /21. The problem ultimately ended up being a clog in the air gap vent, (meaning, SOMEBODY ran the dishwasher without the bottom filter being in place or not in place properly). Remove the air gap cover and upper surface nut to drop the air gap vent into the area under the sink. Disconnect the hoses from the air gap vent filter (placing a bucket under the hose from the dishwasher). Run the drain cycle on the dishwasher. The washer should drain into the bucket and let you know that your pump works and that there are no clogs or kinks in the drain hose. (This will also remove the clog if so). The air gap vent's smaller hose connection is MOST LIKELY where your clog is. Look at the upper end of the air gap vent. You'll see a couple of clips on opposite sides of each other, that hold the air vent cap in place. Using a small screwdriver, (or your hands if you can), depress the clips (or one at a time) to get to the point where you can pull the vent cap off the filter. Either use water or a thin, long blade screwdriver to force any objects out of the filter. You should now have full flow through both branches of the filter. Using water and a rag, clean the vent cap and filter. Mount the air gap vent filter back onto the sink. Reconnect the hoses and remove the dishwasher's internal filter(s) and clean them as well while you're at it, making sure to remove any debris that might remain underneath the filter and has the chance of clogging the unit again.

Run the washer again to test. You should be good!

Cheers!

Bosch dishwasher leaking on the back

AI Bot Answer Deleted. In the base of the dishwasher above the floor there is a plastic tray that has a leak sensor. If you see water behind the machine than it means you have a 'spraying leak' as the sensor cuts off the machine as soon as it is triggered. It is likely to be a leaking hose on the pump. It can also be caused by the machine over-filling. An E15 error code indicates that the safety switch has detected water in the base of the dishwasher. Your leakage protection system has activated. What can I do to fix the E15 Error Code on my dishwasher? Please turn off the water inflow and contact Bosch Customer Support for assistance.
