Two different ideas from Bosch, either control board or heater element, temperature thermistor. Here is how to solve this problem. With the door open take a flat screwdriver and pull the small gray latch towards you until it snaps into the open position. The Sanitize Option was not able to be switched off by pressing of buttons on a Bosch SHE863WF6N. Nothing appears in the manual about how to turn it off. (It might be noted that the other options appeared as though they probably could not be toggled either, though this was not thoroughly checked.) Most common is a burnt out inlet valve. Turn off water and disconnect power. The valve on Bosch dishwashers is at the back on the bottom panel. The water feed pipe is attached directly to the inlet valve. The valve itself iis set into a small rectangular panel that is sometimes just clipped in or held with two screws at one end. Remove this panel and disconnect the two wires on the valve and disconnect the internal feed pipe.
