Replacing door seal

If you have refitted the door seal correctly, then what you need to do is turn back the seal in on itself, and starting at the top start feeding the spring around the recessed lip at the rear of the seal, as you progress round stretch the spring as much as you can to get it all the way round the seal, you will find it easier to do, if you can have someone to hold the spring to stop it slipping off.
It is a fiddley job and you may find it slips off part way round, then you will just have to start again.
You will find it easier to fit , if you tilt the m/c back, this will give you more room to work in.
If you have got it on properly, then you should be able to pull on the seal with out it coming off.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

A mold smell from my washing machine

IMPORTANT: Read thoroughly. DO NOT add detergent or other laundry products to this cycle.
1. Remove all items from the washer.
2. Open the dispenser drawer and 2/3 cup (160 mL) of liquid chlorine bleach to the bleach compartment. DO NOT use more than 2/3 cup (160mL) of bleach per cycle as this will lead to product damage.
3. Close the washer door and dispenser drawer.
4. Select the Clean Washer cycle or a full wash cotton 104 F wash (40 C). DO NOT use any higher temperature as this will cause unnecessary fumes
5. Press Start and allow cycle to complete.
6. If the bad odour persists, repeat the procedure 1 or 2 more times. This may be necessary if this is the first time you have run this cycle.
7. After the cycle is complete, leave the door open slightly to allow ventilation and drying of the washer interior.
8. Repeat the cleaning procedure monthly.
To maintain the washer freshness:
1. Use only HE High Efficiency detergent.
2. Leave the door open after each cycle to for better ventilation and drying of the washer interior.
3. Use warm / hot water in your machine unless the fabric you are washing requires cold.
4. Use the correct amount of fabric softener.
5. If your laundry room is damp, use a dehumidifier.
6. Clean the door seal of visible residue.

How do I replace the door seal to a Bosch Front

To change the seal the easiest way is to take the front of the appliance off. Remove the kick plate at bottom and you will see some screws holding the front panel on remove these Then open door and remove the screws holding the door lock on and unlip the seal by releasing the clamp on the front. The front should now lift off, if it doesnt then pull out the soap drawer and behind that at the bottom of the drawer is a screw holding the front on remove this then push the front panel down then it will lift off You can now take the clamp holding the seal to the tub off. Fit the new seal, fit the clamp to the seal and tub. From here, rebuilding is the reverse of the strip down.

Hot water will not turn off

This could be several things. One is the water inlet valve for cold has a bunch of sediment in it. There should be a screen on it, take the hose off and look into the area that it screws onto. The other thing is that valve is bad and the last thing is the control for it is bad.

Brown stuff coming from inside back of drum

If it washes off it is probably just debris and can be rectified by running the machine empty a few times on a 90 degree cycle. If it doesn't come off then it is probably oil from the back bearing, this will need to be replaced along with the bearing tub seal.

Fitted a new heater ellememt to my bosh 1200 classix and still not heating up

Are you sure it's not heating, try this first.1 Dial to off position2 Press and hold down start button whilst turning dial one click to left (east care 30), keep start pressed until either 888 in screen or middle two of the four neons are on3 turn dial to 90 cotton without going thru OFF ie counterclockwise4 Press startThis is a heater test, the drum will fill with no motor action and the heater will come on (if it's working) give it a few minutes and you should hear the machine 'kettling' (sound a kettle makes when it starts to boil). This will prove that the heater is working, if it's not then you possible need a new ntc (170961) or if the original heater blew, worst case scenario is that you need a new Module as the heater relay may have blown.Good Luck, keep me informed or repost if you need any further assistance

I just got given a

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry- lots of words but well worth reading- but I would say that, wouldn't I ;-0)

This is my advice- mostly washers are washers and what washing powder to use is up to you, especially in a Bosch. I have to assume that 'Cuddly' is some sort of softener?
However for peace of mind look in the manual - which you probably haven't got so here is more value added from FixYa!
Manual
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make model number) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount.
You could also try the manufacturer's web site direct ;-0)
Cleaning
Run some proprietary Limescale remover through it AND follow these (pre-typed!) guidance notes on checking/cleaning the drain filter/motor/pump!
----------------------
Following are my complete and hopefully 'coverall' pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If these have assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Hi rod_ogden,

Usually the Drain Pump cannot drain the water, and the cycle will get stuck on that position and continue washing. You may need to clean the Drain Pump filter, as there may be a foreign object hindering its draining capability.

Please follow my below Tip on how to do this:

ACCESSING, DRAINING & CLEANING THE DRAIN PUMP FILTER...
