Oil going into muffler,smoking
If you have oil in muffler, do a comression check test for ring issues, better yet do a leakdown test, (small engine shop can do this) if air pressure is coming out fo crank case then you have a bad ring, also check the reed valve under the valce cover, this allows crankcase oil / vapor to be drawn back in the intake. A leakdown test will reveal more. Also possibly an intake valve seal.

Oil going into muffler on 5500 generac generator
Do a leakdown test and check ring status first, check for pressure on this test in the crankcase dipstick, that will help identify an internal ring issue/ Also check the intake valve seal

Trickle charger on 60 kw propane generator not working battery going dead in about a week
The trickle charger is the problem and needs replacing? Not sure of the question. If you have the trickle charger built into the transfer switch then check there and internal ATS fuses. If you have the external or gen model, make sure any receptacle it is plugged into is working, as sometimes they are wored ona GFCI and they trip easy

Generac 43901 trys to start but get only a buzzing sound
The buzzing sound is most likely the started solenoid chattering due to low battery voltage, change the battery and try again. If it still does it make make sure the engine is not seized and can turn over. Then measure voltage going from the solenoid to the starter, if it is very low change the solenoid

16 Kw generac no power to the fuel solenoid
Check wiring harness, solenoid should have power on cranking obviously. If you changed the board examine all wiring and ohm out the solenoid. Also did you check the old solenoid for a short? If not and it is shorted it is possible the new board has now gone. Most solenoids when they go bad, open so it isn't likely. Check wiring

I have a 10KW SIEMENS
Most of those chargers have a fuse in line between the battery and the charger which you should check. They are two stage chargers meaning when there is a large voltage drop, they go to a high rate charge until battery voltage reads about 14.3 - 14.6 VDC then drops to a float volatge and normal float voltage should be about 13.33 VDC. When they go to a high rate the light turns red, when they go to float the light turns green. When the fuse blows the light stays green because it doesn't see any voltage but the charger isn't doing any work.

Generator starts than shuts down
The problem is related to the engine. When a load is put on the generator, the engine's throttle will want to open to maintain RPMs. If your carburetor is misadjusted or gummed/varnished, when the throttle opens, you will get a fuel starvation and the engine will die. If the generator is used regularly and hasn't sat for a while, first check to make sure the spark plug is good since you don't want to make a carb. adjustment using a worn plug. After you adjust the carb. manuallly flick the throttle to ensure that the engine doesn't 'stutter' or die out. If it does, increase the gas in the air/gas mixture and if that doesn't solve it, remove, disassemble and clean the carburetor.

Look for a fuse that protects a transformer that supplies the rotating field voltage. If fuse is blown, find a rectifier module that the transformer drives. Likely the rectifier has a shorted diode. Fix before replacing the fuse.

Generator won't start. Seems to
have you had the generator stored with fuel in the carburettor since its last use if so the fuel goes bad and blocks up the main jet, remove the float bowl and clean out all the residue you can clean out the main jet with a suitable piece of wire

Just returned from a trip
Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly. My research has the model number of your generator engine as GT-990 Is your generator model number 05506? Or something other than that like 5785 or 5744? I found the service manual for the engine already. I really need to know what your genrator model number is please. 05506 whisper series, 5785 and 5744 are the Guardian series by GENERAC.

It has power but not
It would help to know a bit more about what it happening, such as the model.
Is the engine speed too slow?
Is the circuit breaker tripped?
Have you checked output with a neon test light?
