Generac 2000 Watt iX2000 Portable Generator - Page 7 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Trying to find oil filter that can be found locally from car part supply store.
take the old filter along to the spares shop and see if they can match it up
I suspect that the same filter will fit both engines
if you want to get technical, use a verniers to measure the thread hole diameter, a thread gauge to get the thread pitch, and the outside diameter of the oil seal
by going to oil filters manufacturers on line and researching their catalogues you will find pages of filters with dimensions that will match you filter
I would rather just go and buy a genuine filter from a mower shop or kohler dealer as there may be a generic filter already listed.

How to check a starting capacitor on a generac generator
Disconnect wires and use a Fluke meter 16, typically used by HVAC techs. (It has a capacitor charge function) You cannot use a multimeter accurately. An old analog meter on ohms, will show a reading then decay, all that tells you is it isn't open, it does not tell you if it is holding correct mfd capacitance

Generac generator won't turn off in automatic
It is possibly a transfer switch issue, not the generator control board. Have an electrican kill utility power, let it start and run, then disconnect the sensing wires in the ATS. If it stops problem is ATS

How to set up governor for Generac GN-220 motor
The circuit board controller is monitoring the engine rpm and frequency and thus controls the frequency, via the governor actuator, or stepper motor as you say. You can't adjust it. I doubt this is the problem it sounds like either engine is not delivering HP, or there is a stator short causing excessive load / current draw bogging the unit down, incorrect wiring of the stator output. Ha someone taken the stator output leads off the breaker? check the stator resistance and shorts to ground.
