Flushing problems

Tank needs more water and the flapper has to stay open longer by adjusting chain so the flapper goes up higher when you flush the unit. Practice and you will get it right.

Screw loose in securing toilet to flange

Hopefully you can tighten it Sometimes the flange bends up or can break. Many a flange is not held down properly with good enough screws or the plywood has been rotting etc. If you can tighten it or loosen it then it has to be cut off with a recipricating saw or hacksaw and replaced.

Water is not coming out on the top of the fill tube that connects to the overflow tube

It doesn't usually have water coming out. If it fills the tank, it is ok. The water is coming out at the bottom anyway. However, the adjustment on the tube is off and not allowing water in .

Not enough water goes into the Toilet Bowl, The Tank fills up fine but very little goes into the Tank, Terrible Flush

THERE ARE LOTS OF SMALL HOLES WHERE THE WATER COMES OUT OF IN THE RIM OF THE TOILET BOWL, SOME TIMES HARD WATER BLOCKES THES AND THEY NEED TO BE CLEANED. THEY CAN BE CLEANED USING A LARGE SEWING NEEDLE, PUSHING IT INTO THE HOLE UNTIL IT FEELS A BIT BIGGER, YOU WON'T DO DAMAGE AS IT IS VERY HARD METERIAL. aAFTERWARDS TURN OFF THE WATER, AND LIFT THE VALVE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK AND PUT SOME TOILET ACID INTO IT. THIS WILL ALSO HELP CLEAN THE HOLES.

When I flush the toilet the handle stays down and

If you lift the lid you should see where the handle goes through the porcelin. You can remove the handle by unscrewing the nut inside the tank. Try cleaning the inside of the nut as sometimes water deposits collect in this area and cause binding on the handle shaft. After you clean it up you can apply a very small amount of petrolium jelly to the handle shaft when you reinstall it, this should prevent the problem from happening again.

The toilet tank doesn't fill

Kohler toliets can be a pain to repair. I have found with them that the only thing to do with them is go to a plumbing company, take the model number with you and replace all in the inner parts to it. You will replace the fill valve and flush valve. After I do this on Kohler I don't have anymore problems with them. It should work for you, just make sure they are Kohler parts. Good Luck

I have a kohler model

Try adjusting the float level. The float is what tells the toilet to stop filling. If the float is set too high, then water will just go down the overflow tube and never be able to get to the level it needs to turn off.

I have a new Kohler

Basically, if water is flowing out of the overflow tube, then water must be coming in...I would suggest that you check the intake valve, it is probably not shutting off completely when the float comes up to the prescribed level, and continues to leak some water into the tank. That is what the overflow tube is there for.

How to stop a continuing slight bit of water

Sounds like you need a new flapper. You can do this yourself. Just turn the water valve off down below the stool, flush the stool to get all the water out of the tank as possible, take the top of the tank off, reach down and disconnect the flapper. It is located in the center at the bottom of the tank. You can get a new one at Home Depot, wal mart , Lowes or any hardware store.

What kind of flush valve is it? kohler.com shows a couple of different towers with their ingenium toilets. Is it a Kohler item or is it a Fluidmaster?
Usually you adjust water height by turning a threaded rod that runs up and down. See page 5 of this pdf
