The motor brushes may be bad. Take the screen off and turn the shaver on. Manually move the blade back and forth a bit and see if it starts to engage. If it begins to run when you do this, the brushes are worn. Braun does not make replacement motors for your shaver

Here is an equivalent circuit diagram good enough to repair the circuit board - What I have found is that the batteries go bad, draw too much current and blow the fuse or in the case of mine, over current the transistors. Resistors are in ohms

To open shaver, remove the two round screw covers on the bottom by prying them out. Remove screws underneath. Slide outer case off the bottom. You may need to reposition the lock to get it all the way off. Inside, you will need to unsnap and remove the black cover to access the batteries. For easier replacement, it is suggested that you use a modified installation technique. This is to break the tabs off of the old batteries rather than unsoldering them from the circuit board. This allows the old batteries to be removed but leaves the tabs attached to the circuit board. You can then solder the tabs from the new batteries to the old existing tabs

If the shaver still works but just will not hold a charge as long as it should, you can fix this by replacing the batteries. If the shaver is dead and will not run and the green charging light no longer illuminates when you plug it in, you will need to change the whole circuit board.

there may not be anything wrong with the batteries and circuit board at all. you may have a bad motor

Hello running girl, Have you looked to see if maybe the "lock-off" feature hasn't been engaged?

If you look at the razor, right above the on/off and sideburn trimmer selector, you should see a full bar that goes all the way across the shaver. Push this up toward the shaving head to unlock the razor and the shaver should work fine again.

This is a Braun design feature there to help prevent the shaver from accidently getting turned on when packed in your luggage, etc. and running down a fully charged shaver.

There is nothing like reaching for what you thought was a charged and ready to use shaver and discovering that it got switched on and ran the batteries down.

Other than having the lock off feature engaged, I can't think of anything that would cause the switch not to turn on, unless the shaver was dropped and damaged. If that's the case, you will want to have it looked at to make sure the printed circuit board hasn't been broken, etc.

The problem is that your rechargeable batteries have become degraded to the point that they won't take and hold a charge. Because the batteries have become so badly degraded, that even with the power cord plugged in, you still can't use the razor with AC power either.

Typically it takes about a week or less once they receive your shaver. They also stock most parts for many brands of shavers, including your Braun. I've used them for getting parts for several of my shavers and found them to be a very good company.

If you're handy and have a soldering iron you can disassemble the shaver and remove (unsolder) the bad batteries and solder in a new set. There are two small caps on the bottom of the razor that cover the screws that hold the body havlves together. Remove these with a small pick or small flat bladed screwdriver and remove the screws and carefully remove the body halves and that will let you get to the main board and the batteries.

Simply heat up your soldering iron and melt the end tabs off the batteries and remove them. Then solder in the new ones and make sure they are properly secured and have adequate solder on the tabs for a good connection. Put the covers back on and install the screws and and the caps and your all set for recharging the shaver. Let it charge for at least 8 hours and you should be all set!
