Makita & 1/2 Inch Drill - Page 8 Questions & Answers
Wy did I buy a Makita?
My tip is: Buy a tool that works, From what I read Makitas don't work that often or very long. My advise buy Dewalt.
HOW TO REMOVE KEYLESS CHUCK FROM MAKITA 6271D
Open the chuck so you see a screw insite and turn the screw 251468-5 clockwise to remove. in first place , have a full loaded battery and shift the machine so it turns you see the chuck counterclockwise so the same direction as you will lose a drill.
2. Now take the greatest possible Allen key fitts in the chuck 10 - 13
and place the short site of the key in the chuck and the long side you set in a bech screw strong fixating it , and then on the same time to push the powerswitch in the first gear turn your tool with both hands in the same direction agains the clock try for 2 seconds normaly it will lose. BUT !!!
3 , whenn you will not risk any damage you should open the 4 screws of the gearbox until you see a little shaft retaining ring of the drill spindle warning (THERE IS NO MANUAL of the planet transmission gearbox ) but its very good and possible to do .when you are handy but there are a few little balls and little axles and gears but if you lose the shaft retaining ring you can set the drill spindle in a bench screw, warning use not the full length because the round part is what is made as a part of a bearing one centimeter of the spindle of the chuck can you set in the bench to prevent damage of the bearing point or the spindle of the gearbox is become useless.
Succes
Is there a key to get a drill bit out on an older model Makita
yes it's a JACOBS chuck with a special key in a powertools shop you can buy this
information on
http://www.jacobschuck.com
If you have a drill in a chuck and it will not lose then
place the drill itself (not the tool) in a ,bench screw and take a little bench hammer with the point of the hammer against 1or 2 claws of the chuck and a middle heavy nylon hammer then you beat the machine slowly of the drill .
Succes
My 18v lxt wont work ln low gear
I KNOW IT !!! MAKITA the first gear is damaged the notches in the gearbox (planet-transmission)are grinded away about 2 or 3 mm are left and the gear shaft will not fit in the notches anymore , MAKITA the BDF 4** and many more models have all the same gear box problem, (NOT EVERY MODEL of MAKITA but much models ) LXT 18V and ??? because of the planet transmission GEAR BOX they are oft very vulnerable to switch over from one to 2 or from 2 to gear 1 the gearbox should anyway be replaced , and switch the topswitch on top of the machine without use the power switch at the same time its must standstill allways when shifting 1 to 2 or vice versa, inside the top switch there are special 2 springs build in inside to switch without turning because its have nothing to do with a synchronic gear box of a car , or choice to prevalence of repetition if you will not have again this trouble again buy Panasonic or Festool powertools this if you have people who are working with your tools you should never have problems with gearboxes anymore because of that notorious MAKITA problem by much models of Makita BDF4** and may be more models is also proven that have i so much this problem seen and repaired . but the gearbox itself from MAKITA is also not so expensive in compare to other powertools. but other tools moastly are selling individual parts like gearshafts and have metal notches instead of cheap plastic and not separate to buy, Makita delivered only 1 complete gearbox because its cheaper to get and all of the parts are new . marketing technical choice of MAKITA.
Makita Model 6093D will not run and it is not the battery
maybe the left right switch/ powerswitch or the motor is on its end , to test this take a dirty piece of a mains cable 120v from one of a damaged device and take cut out about 30 cm is enough split the ends take the great gear-unit away out of the machine that is against the motor or take the motor out. out of the machine of the gears down because when the motor is direct turning on full speed it will come pushed the gear unit may be out from the machine, because of prevent that you will perhaps some lose parts. hold on the 2 points of one site of the cable on the 2 motor connectors and the other end of the cable direct on the battery when it s turning then the switch is damaged , thats the choice .
succes with repair.
Power button on a Makita 6223 d power drill is stuck
Take a 2 lead mains cable and split the 2 ends of the cable so you can do the one end of the cable on the battery and the other end hold on the 2 motor connectors (take out the motor before connection because it could be working)629781-3 when its not turns around.
The switch replacing when it is damaged is a very expensive part and maybe the age of the batteries and battery charger the tool are maybe not valued enough for repair .
Good luck with the repair.
Ive got a makita ZIC-26 hammer drill and the drill
if this is an SDS try grabbing the bit with some vice grips and jiggling it back and forth. DO Not do this when its plugged in or has a battery hooked up. (your model # did not mach an online search so I don't know what you've got. Also a bit of WD-40 or the like may help loosen it up.
Makita 1804 drill battery charger isnt working
Move it from its current location and see if that helps. First try to blow it out and make sure contacts are free from rust, etc
My answers are short and sweet. Common sense mostly. If you are trying to get something for nothing...Don't waste my time! Remember if something sounds to good to be true that it usually is. I've spent many years of my life trying to cheat the system and was pretty good at it. This all changed when I discovered that people were doing the same thing to me. What comes around, goes around. Karma! Now I assist people in making win-win deals...that are legit!
My makita battery is not taking a charge is it the base or the battery
The most easiest way to be sure is using multimeter.
Set your multimeter to highest dc volt. All chargers have output voltage information written on it (Must be written as "output" value or "sec"). Measure charger's output pins (which connects to battery) and be sure measured value matches with output voltage value written on charger label. If it doesn't match each other, buy a new charger and proceed with below part.
Discharge your battery. Once you discharge battery; be sure that there is no charge at all. Charge battery for 15 min. Measure battery power with multimeter again. If there is no charge at your battery, it is dead and you need another battery.
