I have the Kirby with the zippbrush and upholstery attachments. The manual does not seem to specify if I'm able to use this with the shampoo attachment. I would like to shampoo my upholstery, but have no idea how to set up the attachments as the manual does not specify? Does anybody have any idea? Thanks in advance! Gillian
it depends on the make of the kirby you are using but most kirby systems come with a portable shampooer and special shampoo. I would not recommend using your zip brush for shampooing purposes, the zippbrush is designed to loosen up dog hair, dirt, ect. when vacuuming. to shampoo upholstery do the following: remove bag from side of machine, place hose where bag goes, remove power head from front of the machine, place air intake valve on front of machine where power head was (intake valve kinda shaped like a pig nose with small holes on end) attach portable shapooer to end of hose and fill with water and kirby shampoo spray shampoo witch is foamy looking on whatever you are shampooing, rub into fabric w/a brush and let sit till dry. when dry turn kirby back into a hand held vacuum by putting powerhead back on front of machine and putting bag back on side of machine, then vacuum furiture. (make sure it is 100% dry before you vacuum because Kirby is not a wet vac!) Hope this helped ya out a little

I bought my kirby sentria just before we were to move house and although I have the instructions somewhere, they will be boxed up and I so want to clean the carpets before I move. Problem is that I don't know whether the belt should be on or off when using the big silver front with the Kirby insignia on it. I know that the green light should come on when it is working properly and it does not, so I am doing something wrong. I can attach the attachments no problem but I want to use the full vacuum. Does the Kirby word on the front have to be facing the right way up when it is set up properly?
If the green light is off, then its time to replace the band. This video shows you how.

I was vacuuming yesterday and have not had any problems and then i shut it off for a few minutes and it won't start up again.

I have tried everything, from checking the bag, to taking the belt completely off. The vacuum is on the highest setting from the carpet and still the roll won't move. It is still on number 1, I tried number 2 and still nothing. Please help, Im trying to get my house on the market and get my carpets clean!

My carpet shampoo system is not dispensing foam like normal. Both filters are clean and in place and everything is hooked up right. I watched the video multiples times. Could it be something to do with the tank?
Few possible causes
1. Valve under the sponge (water tank) is clogged. Replacement HERE.
2. Tray is now lowered all the way down.
3. You use non-foamy solution.
4. Carpet is very dirty so foam gets broken up very fast
