Here's a link to a video instruction manual that shows how to but on the Kirby Shampoo attachment on the newer Kirby Sentria model, however the instructions are exactly the same for attaching the shampooer attachment to your model.

The question is what is stopping it from turning on? And if it is a blown motor I would recommend a new vacuum. If it is just the on and off switch I would fix it.If you put the belt back on and make sure the bag assembly is on the machine properly will it then turn on? Please get back to us with this in fo so I may further assess your issue P.S. a new belt may solve this as the old one is most likely stretched and needs replacing!

Here's a very helpful video that we've shot showing you exactly how to replace the belt on a Kirby Generation series, including your Ultimate G. The video also shows you how to perform basic maintenance on your roller brush to prolong the life of the belt as long as possible. If you haven't already purchased a belt, and need to buy a new one, here's a link to the exact belt that's used on your repair:
Vacuuming a wet carpet with your Kirby or any other vacuum not designed for wet pickup could do serious damage to your machine and there is a real danger of electrical shock to the operator. Your Kirby Diamond and every other Kirby for that matter is NOT designed to pick up water!! Even with the shampoo system attached it will NOT pick up water or the shampoo foam. Your Kirby spreads the shampoo foam around on the carpet to clean it. You then only vacuum a shampooed carpet after it has completely dried.
.
When the green lights do not come on when vacuuming with a Kirby, this indicates that your belt has either broken or fallen off. There is a magnet on the beater bar that activates the LED green light when it's spinning.
Here's a helpful video tutorial that we recorded, that will show you how to replace the belt, as well as perform basic maintenance on your roller brush to prolong the life of your belt as long as possible.

here are the things you should check first: your machine has a few safety interlocks first make sure that the outer bag is pushed on correctly it should be push to the left and touching the outer housing also make sure that the front nozzle is on correctly,if all of those things are correctly done then make sure that the cord is plugged in correctly on the side of your vacuum.
This is an easy fix you do not have to fully remove transmission it does help to lower it down by removing screws. Then try to get the right angle and realign the splines I have fixed mine twice, the second time I put thread locker on it and have not had any problem. Steve
The Kirby vacs have a 50year warranty. You sould contact the person you baught it from and have them replace it or if they gave you one (no labor is coverd on the warranty) then you will definately need a Philips screw driver and a tub to hold all the parts in while you work on it.
