Did you make sure the brake was off before re fitting the side cover, if not the band will be smaller that the drum and will jam the drum and stop it from turning.

Buy yourself a spark tester from the local chainsaw dealer, these will clip to the cylinder to create an earth, the plug cap fits to the end, it will have a large gap to load the ignition unit, if there is a spark when the engine is cranked the unit is ok.

If the chain is turning, it has to cut. Make sure the cutting edge of the teeth are coming toward you on the lower run of chain. Good luck!

I had the same issue with the same model. If the channel is not plugged, it's probably that the oiler mechanism has to be replaced. According to all the experts in the field, this oiler is a poor design and needs to be replaced occasionally because it is a mechanical "plastic" gear that wears out rather fast. The part is not too expensive and it's fairly easy to replace. My new one is still working after 1.5 years of use.Good luck! Plse rate this answer! Tks

This is the same problem I have with a Mac 3200. I have: (1) A line from the primer bulb to the front port on the carburator. (2) line from fuel tank, with attached fuel filter, to the other primer bulb port. (3) Line from port on back of carb. to ????. I thought it must be a pulse line, but not certain, and don't know where to run it to. Please let me know when you find out.

check for saw dust or wood chips in linkage check cable for sharp bends check that the return spring is on properly throttle is a mechanical link so if its stuck something has to be holding it or the return spring is off

You may have seized the engine. Pull the spark plug and shoot some WD40 in the spark plug hole and pull the rope several times to see if it loosens up.

If you removed the cover to replace the chain and you are trying to reinstall the cover and it won't slide all the way in, it's because the metal brake inside that plastic cover is still in the BRAKE position. Hold the cover in your hand, and move the brake handle over to release the metal brake. Hope this is what you were looking for.
