Won't start
Remove the spark plug and check the spark--it should be blue and snappy. If weak or nothing at all, try a new plug and retest. If still poor, remove the left side cover to expose the flywheel and ignition module. Check and set the module to flywheel magnet pole gap using a thin business card for a gauge--place the card on the flywheel, loosen the mounting screws on the module and allow it to pull to the magnets, tighten the screws, and rotate the flywheel to remove the card. Recheck for spark. If still nothing, remove the wire from the module that goes to the stop switch and retest again. If still dead, the module is defective and needs to be replaced. If the first test produced good spark, then place a spoonful of fuel mix in the cylinder, install the plug and see if you get a few pops. If ok, then concentrate on the fuel system. Make sure the carburetor is tight to the engine. Are you using fresh gas and mixing 50:1 with full synthetic saw oil--not boat motor oil or other petroleum based oils? It's possible that something has become defective within the carburetor, but check the lower chamber diaphragm and the fuel metering valve that it controls. First use since last year. can't get to start.
First you should get a new spark plug which might solve the problem. If it still won't start what I normally do with chainsaws, lawnmowers etc is to remove the spark plug and pour about 5ml (one teaspoonful) of fuel into the opening. Dip the spark end of the plug into fuel so the spark gap is wet and replace the plug in the saw. Try starting it now. The fuel you poured in should ignite and may be enough to start the saw. You may have to repeat the process 2 to 3 times. Don't be tempted to use more than 5 ml of fuel or you'll flood the saw.

Before adjusting anything, check the fuel filter, air filter, and muffler for plugging. Check the condition of the fuel lines for decay or other damage. Tighten all carburetor fasteners. Make sure you have fresh fuel mix in the tank. Does the primer bulb pull fresh fuel into itself when pumped? Turn both jet screws CW to stops (lightly), then back out CCW 1-1/2 turns each. This is a basic setting and should allow the engine to start and run. Start the engine and allow it to warm up, then pull the throttle full on. Adjust H needle CW until the engine starts to speed up, but still 4-stroking. Proper final adjustment is when the engine 4-strokes unloaded, but immediately 2-strokes when cutting. Release the throttle and adjust L needle CW for fairly good idle, but still allows the engine to 'follow the throttle'. Adjust idle speed screw so that the chain stops turning, but the engine will continue to run. Hope this helps!
Fuel line in tank dry rotted how do you replace

Remove the old fuel line and filter from the tank...
You will insert a wire a little smaller than the diameter of the inside of the fuel line, and you will bend a small hook on the end of the line to fit over the fuel line (be sure to use a small wire) .
Lubricate the first 1 inch of fuel line with vasoline lightly...using your fingers or neednose pliers collapse the fuel line and insert it into the fuel tank, entend the fuel line long enought to go out of the fuel tank so you can reconnect the fuel filter...then pull some of the fuel line back into the fuel tank...

We are replacing old doors
Hi this is what I would do.
1.buy a shim pack at any hard ware store (wooden wedges) cheap.
2.take one side of bottom hinge off,frame.
3.shut the door and use shims end to end like this >< Where needed to fit door,some on bottem ,one set on knob side and anoughter set on hinge side.At any rate where ever they are needed to leval the door in the frame.
4.buy some wooden dowels to plug frame holes,might have to drill screw holes larger for dowles.Drive dowels in and break them off.
5.swing bottem hinge in to place and screw hinge down.This should work and you may need a wood chissle or flat screw driver for modifacation where hinges seat.You may have to reseat both hinges or put shim stock behind the frame hinges to line up every thing.I hope something here will help and please feel free to ask any questions that you have and add any thing that will help me see this clearer.You will need a person on both sides of the door to drive the shims togeather to keep the door level.

Chain binds on bar when trying to cut and will not
Have you been putting oil in the lube tank? If you have, and have been making sure it's using it, then the chain has a bent guide, or the guide in the bar has been bent, or the chain is too tight. They're pretty simple machines. The possibilities are fairly limited.
Won't stay running, we changed

Use a stiff piece of wire and form a hook on one end and use it to fish the filter that is on the end of a tube in the gas tank.Buy a new one and you should be back in business.Hope this helps and thank you for choosing FixYa.com.
Saw idle's to fast .
There will be three screws on the side of the carb, one marked L one marked H and one marked I or T, the last two are the idle speed screw, it simply works against the throttle shaft, if you remove the aifilter cover you should be able to see what happens when you turn this screw.
