Well it depends on the situation, and I'm not sure of the situation by what you told me. If the gaps are in the laminate floor I would use wider molding to cover to the gaps. I have also found silicone caulking to work well in situations where there are gaps as it remains pliable and last a long time without cracking. Make sure if your going to use it you buy 100% silicone, and I have found GE brand silicone caulk to work the best in all situations.
