My stylus is doing exactly the same thing. l was advised by numerous people to change the capacitor in the charging dock, they also said that you can find youtube videos to guide you through it (the capacitor only cost a few cents when l bought it). I really should finish doing that job, although l did actually remove the 'screws'' from the base, l warn you- they are triangle and a nightmare to unscrew, see if you can find a triangle screwdriver BEFORE you start, or you'll end up doing what l did and destroying a perfectly good straight screwdriver!??. Change tha capacitor 220uF and it will probably be fine! I did and now it is as new!

Please help. Because l am in Australia l can't phone the tecnition and the link to get the manual doesn't go any where, neither does the dremel website, nothing happens, and every time l try to do something in this site l get catapulted back to the begining of the page. Frustrating! Can someone help me with the manual?

Even in 2018 this is still correct. Change the Capacitor and runs OK I have put a 50 v to make sure this never happens again

Dremel may not be the way to go. ABS and poly plastic likes to melt and ball up on a Dremel

Change the capacitor 220uF 25V and it will charge properly again (at least that is the result I got and several others here at FixYa).Easy to do and cheap (component around 0,2 Euros) work about 2 min,.

Take it back to the store, explain your problem. Like as not, they will exchange it. My experience with this tool tells me that it is a noisy unit. Depending on the material you are working and the stylus you are using, the noise will change.

This is the charger, its getting a reading from the battery that its charged when it isn't. I don't know exactly how that charger is wired but, to be suroe it is the charger, as I have had similar problems beforehand.

Hi Les, Dremel .com has a lot of information and a video that explains what the buttons do. Changing bits you just turn the chuck and push a button and then loosen the chuck and the bit and collet will come out.The red stuff is rouge and is used for polishing with the felt wheels and points, there is a shaft with a screw that the points are used with.I copied the owners manual but don't know if it will open.There are phone # for questions.THANK YOU for choosing FixYa.com.................Darryel

I called Dremmel tech support FOR FREE and they told me what was broken - flex coupling between shaft and spindle. Only Dremmel model 395 type 2 and 3 have these couplings. Mailed out repair kit yesterday.

I just looked at an owners manual at Dremel.com (64 pages) and under tightening the collet they state to finger tighten and then use wrench making sure to not overtighten. All you really need to do is snug the wrench up enough to hold the accessory. after tightening or loosening release the lock button and I always turn mine by hand making sure not to hit switch or remove battery (suggested for removal/installation) to ensure the release isn't catching. You can look at the manual and other information by going to their site. They also have a toll free number to talk with a tech for help. sounds like the head of the Dremel is bent. you should take it back and get a diffrent one.

Try using the correct collet size

Look at the clogged teeth on the blade. Copper does that. Use a pair of tin snips.
