Poulan model p3314 recoil spring won't go in correctly

You need to pretension it. Remove the pull handle, rotate the spool about 2 revolutions against the spring, rethread the cord and reinstall the handle.

I have a Poulan p3314 14

I checked their site at Poulanpro.com and found your saw but they don't show a case. I would suggest you call them at 1-800-554-6723 or go to the site and under service locator type in your zip code and find a center near you that might be able to help.

Saw does not idle

You have gum in your carbeurator.
You can try a carb. cleaner that you add to the gas. I likve one called seafoam. You add one ounce per gallon of fuel.

Also, you must have a good clean spark plug, and a clean air filter. The spark, the fuel, and the air all contribute to an easy start and a good idle. If you havn't changed the spark plug lately do so, same with the air filter.

How do I install fuel lines on a poulan chain saw

The smaller line comes from the fuel filter in the tank to the nipple on the side of the carb with the cover w/ 1large screw in the center, the other small line goes from the other nipple on the carb to the primer bulb, the larger line goes from the other nipple on the primer bulb back to the tank, and only gets pushed in about 1/2-3/4" into the tank. Hope this helps.

How do you get new fuel line into the gas tank of

FIrst off be sure you have the correct size line. Poulan uses several sizes of fuel line. If you got the wrong one, you won't get it to go in. The best way is to cut the tip of the fuel line at an angle. If you warm the fuel line before inserting it, it will go in easier. Once you get it forced in a little ways, you can reach in with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull on the fuel line while pushing it in from the outside. If you bought the line from a Poulan dealer, then instructions would be included along with the end being precut at a long angle to assist with installation.

Poulan 14" chainsaw, fuel coming out of fuel cap vent

The fuel cap has a rubber check valve in the top. This check valve allows air to enter the tank so fuel can flow. Much like the vent on your gas can. Sounds like the check valve in the cap is stiffening and not flexing. Best bet is to buy a new cap. Most caps like that sell for less than $3.

My poulan (wild thing) chainsaw won't stay

Sounds like you are starving for fuel. This can be a clogged fuel filter (old gas around the outside of it), a cracked fuel line, or the diaphragms in the carburetor need replaced. Make sure you the fuel filter is clean. Clean it off with some gumout spray. If your fuel lines are not cracked, then I would suggest a new diaphragm kit in the carburetor. Not sure of your mechanical abilities, so I don't know how hard or easy that would be for you to do.

Dont know if the starter solenoid is shot or start

dont jump start any atv with any lawn mower or car, there is a circut board that controls spark, gas everthing. if you need to jump start atv you can do this with your mower but only with it shut off. the oroblem with this is that you could burn out the stater plate in the atv. look at bike bandit for your bike, size motor and all parts.

Poulan p3314 saw is hard to pull and jerky. i'm unable to get enough pull to fire engine up. Any ideas what problem might be? Repair solutions needed. Thanks

incorrect plug in use where the plug end is hitting the piston seizing piston ring seizing bearing flooding engine allowing raw fuel into combustion chamber causing a hydraulic lock situation remove the plug and if the pull start is normal, it is either the plug or excessive fuel if it spins over freely with out the plug put your finger over the plug hole and pull the cord several times to remove any excess fuel from the system if it is still difficult with the plug removed replace or repair
