Buffalo Tools 4,000 Watt 6.5 Hp Portable Generator #GEN4065 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Need anew carburator
If you can't get any info from the retailer as to repairers for you machine then check out other gen sets as most run generic carbys on the engines.
Replace the pull rope
That is the fun part! You have to leave the handle end free, as in no handle on it, put a good knot in one end of your new pull cord, feed it through the hole in the pulley, feeding it out so you can pull it back into the space where the pulley is. Should be a slot on the pulley to bring it up in. Wind pulley against spring, same direction as normally pulled when starting, will need three to six rounds, can't tell how many cause it varies. Stick cord out hole to where handle should be while keeping tension on spring so you don't lose it. Tie handle on and try it. You may have to adjust rounds against spring and length of cord until you get it right. Good luck!
WHO MANUFACTURES THE ENGINE FOR
There have been several factories in china that have made the motors used on buffalo generators, a couple of these are Lifan and J.D. as in Jiangdong. All of these motors are very similar to honda motors. The 6.5,13,and 15 h.p. motors are real brutes and hold up very well.

4000 watt buffalo tools generator: Engine
Idle speed jet or passage and/or high speed jet/passage is clogged. Remove the carb and inspect and clean thoroughly, then re-install. Set idle and high spped screws approx 1 turn and tune to run smooth from there.
It cant get gas and the off and on switch is
First of all replace the on switch. The fuel tank is located on top so this unit is gravity fed. Check the inline filter for being plugged( if it has one). check the fuel line for kinks and blockages. Also check to make sure it has good fuel before starting.
A coleman generator 6875 won't start please give
Dump ALL old fuel out of tank, you might have got a clog in the fuel line, carburator, fuel valve. Remove carb bottom Sediment bowl then spray Carb cleaner thru the gas inlet AT the carb 3-4 secs CAUTION: KEEP YOUR HEAD BACK.. that cleaner hurts if you get it in your eyes... and NEVER SPRAY A HOT ENGINE (np with yours tho no start) Refill tank with NEW fuel (or strained at least if emergency remote repair) Place a suitable catch container over gas inlet line to carb (at carb) open fuel valve chk for fuel FLOWING (no dripping) into container. replace fuel line to carb start as normal
if not firing still chk that spark plug, might need cleaning now that rest is ok.

Gererator wont put out any volts
Do a ohm test on armature slip rings with brushes removed. You should have continuity between rings but not between either ring and shaft.
