I've had that happen before and what I found was one of the Staples or nails had misfired and wedged before leaving the gun. read the manual on how to get to it for that particular model and also it might be a good idea to adjust your pressure accordingly to keep it from happening again. Check the date code on the bottom of your fuel - it doesn't matter if it feels full or that you just bought it, many stores don't rotate their stock. The #1 issue with these is bad fuel.
