Follow the fuel line from the gas tank down to the engine. It enters the shutoff solenoid which is at the bottom of the float bowl of the carburetor

Usually a Tecumseh with these symptoms has a clogged jet somewhere. If you dismantle the carburetor and clean out all of these tiny holes with a wire or something and spray it off with carburetor cleaner and reassemble it, it should work. Turn the adjustment screws in just until they touch the seats counting the turns and reassemble it with them the same number of turns off of the seats. Also, put fresh gas in it if you haven't. Gas being left in them is the main cause of this. If you put Sta-Bil in the gas before putting it away or run it out of gas it should prevent this from happening in the future.

These people say they will rebuild your batteries better than new. I have never tried them but I may in the near future.

I think you will find the brake light switch being a hydraulic one by the master cylinder someplace. Should have two wires going to it. I would have to go out into the yard and check, but some of these early fords of the 60's had the 4 or 5 fuses in the bottom side of the light switch. Try checking there. Rick.
