It leaks from the bottom of the coffee maker
The heating element in these is underneath the hot plate. The water gets to the heater through two short pieces of hose, and sometimes this hose leaks. Sometimes the connection between the hose and the heater leaks also.
If you are so inclined, you can take off the bottom plate and replace the hose pieces, or try to tighten the connections to the heater.

Cuisinart DCC 1150: coffee is not hot enough
Using the 1-4 cup setting will help, but that model does not have an actual heating element in the plate - definitely not the right model for someone who likes very hot coffee.

Coffee does not stay hot
This often happens in coffeemakers that do not boil the water before it goes through the pipe and through the coffee. The warm plate the coffeepot is on sometimes has a two or three different heatto push on.
