Cuisinart ICE-20 Automatic Frozen Yogurt 1.5 Quart Ice Cream Maker - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
The paddle in my new
Hello Maryo803,
It is not normal for the paddle not to move in these units. First we have to determine weather the paddle is striped or the gear is stripped. At the bottom of the paddle there is a hole that attaches to the turning gear on the machine. Look and see if it still matches the
sprocket in the bottom of the ice cream maker. If it does not still match I would suggest buying a new paddle. You can purchase a new paddle from Cuisinart for $8.00 and here is a link to the page.

However, if it is not the paddle please post back to this thread and I will see if it is worth changing out the bottom gear.

Undependable freezing - sometimes will, sometimes won't!
High room temperatures will throw this unit off BIG TIME. Just to give you an idea how sensitive the freezer bowl is - if you run cold water along the freezer bowl before putting your ingredients in, the COLD water is enough to unfreeze the bowl! Don't remove the freezer bowl from freezer until you are immediately ready to begin mixing - not 5 minutes earlier.

I have a brand new cuisinart frozen yogurt and ice
The Cuisinart site has the manual and recipes:
http://www.cuisinart.com/products/ice_cream/ice-20.html
That said it's weird that you didn't get any manual. Could it be that your product is a return? I would ask the store you bought it from.
Have fun cooking!
Cuisinart Ice Cream Freezer Bowls Not Freezing Anymore
I would take the freezer bowls out of the freezer, run them both under the sink to thaw both bowls out, dry both bowls thoroughly, and then set them both on the counter so that the liquid settles toward the bottom of the freezer bowls. After 1 hour, place the bowls FLAT back into the freezer - don't forget to wrap them in a plastic grocery bag or some other sort of plastic bag. Try to make ice cream again after 24 hours or more of freezing. Let me know if this works, so I can pass the good news along to others.
Cuisinart ice cream-frozen yougurt maker& sorbet maker CIM 60 series
I have the same problem, but it seems that it has gotten worse with time. When I first bought this product 6 years ago it worked fine, now the bowl won't freeze entirely and it has been in the freezer for two days (at the lowest freezer setting). I am wondering if the freezer bowl has a life span.

Mixing Arm Doesn't Turn
As long as it makes the ice cream, it doesn't matter which one turns. If it's not making the ice cream, call Cuisinart, as both the lid and the mixing arm can be replaced.

Tank won't freeze
The keys are to make sure the freezer is cold enough, and to make sure the bowl is level when it is sitting in the freezer. 24 hours is usually required, despite what manual says.
If all else fails, the freezer bowls are replaceable - you can order them from Cuisinart - if you are in-warranty, they may even be able to give it to you for free.

Over freezing ice cream....
Any water is going to solidify the mixture. Make sure you use heavy whipping cream, and not half-and-half or some other substitute.
As far as the mixture freezing onto freezer bowl - use the supplied spatula to try to scrape it off, but I generally have to count that portion out as lost. Running warm water over it will quickly wash it off.
Happy mixing!

My freezer bowl not freezing
Thaw the bowl and re-place it in the freezer - make sure it is sitting perfectly level. Don't remove the freezer bowl until you are immediately ready to pour in the ingredients - letting it sit out for even 5 minutes will be too long, as it thaws quickly.
Cuisinart ICE 20 ice-cream maker
The ice cream makers have a 3-year warranty - call Cuisinart to get a replacement - you may have to pay for shipping, but that's it.
Slimy residue when eating product
Most likely the type of heavy whipping cream. I have successfully used TG Lee and Publix brand Heavy Whipping Cream, and have not experienced the problem you are reporting. It was downright delicious.
