Hitachi NV65AH Siding Nailer, Coil, Wire/Plastic Sheet Collation Questions & Answers
Pieces of the coil are breaking off when firing my
If you are using wire coiled nails, this is a common issue and there really is noway to stop this, and is advisable to wear safety glasses when ever using a nail gun. I have had 1 of the wires come off a coil and literally pierce my cheek. If it would have hit me in the eye it would have done some serious damage.
Just replaced o ring kit in my nv 83a2 coil nailer
did you lube all the o rings and if so did you also check the rubber seal that fit onto the ports in the cap? If everything else appearred fine then find a deal blow hammer or a block of wood and with the air plugged in tap on the cap to seal the cylinder, sometimes during assembly it sticks down and won't seal properly, I would try that before disassembly. Let me know if still an issue.
Sometimes shoots 2 nails. say most of the time
Your driver blade/piston may need machining. Remove the to cap of the tool and take out the blade/piston. Using a bench grinder square up the blade, then put tool back together. Then test fire tool. Good luck!!!!
Nails
Yes there are many different kinds of siding nails from all over the world. Stores that sell nails buy/import nails from where-ever the labor/cost is cheapest. The importer uses a private label so the nails from one company in China will produced according to requirements and will be sold under many different brands in the US. The result is that the nails are not exactly the same from batch to batch. I have seen coils that measure from 3/16 to 1/4 inch between the nails. Closer to 1/4 inch is more ideal for your nailer. The (nv65ah) is listed as a 16 degree canister angle, however you probably purchased 15 degree nails because nothing else is available. Should be no problem assuming everything is working ok. When you insert nails into feeder, make sure that the first nailhead is positioned under the driver and not too far to the edge because the driver will bend the nail if not hitting dead center to the nail shaft. Ask for a sample section/ roll of different brands and type of nail to find the best nail for your gun. Best place to find nails is a fastener company that only sell nails/ nailers/compressors to contractors. For best results, make sure that the driver is squared/flat at the tip. If is not, remove the driver and grind it flat (do not grind too much). If driver and nails check out ok, then it may be time to replace springs/orings in feeder area. Go to
www.toolpartsdirect.com and take a look at the breakdown of your gun and notice that there are several springs in the feeder area that will weaken over time/use. There should be two springs in doorlatch area, one on the feeder itself, and one large spring pushing on the feed piston. Good luck with your issue and email if you have question.
NV65ah Hitachi nail gun "how do you remove the trigger piston"??
If you do not have a breakdown of the gun go here
www.toolpartsdirect.com and select brand, then select coil nailer, finally look for your model number. With breakdown, find parts labeled 51 thru 54. The trigger pin (#53) and the retaining ring (#21) hold the trigger. Remove these then remove the trigger. Find several #51 roll pins on the gun and punch out the uppermost pin where the trigger valve is located (3mm size). The uppermost rollpin holds the trigger valve in-place. After you have removed the rollpin/s connect air supply to pop-out the trigger valve. Caution, use a heavy glove (or reduce pressure) to catch valve as it can come out with force. When incerting the rebuilt valve, use caution not to cut new orings as the valve is pushed in. Good luck and email if you have more questions.
Hi, I have been stumped! I rebuilt a Hitachi
This is the Cars and Trucks section of Fixya. You might get more answers listing in another area of Fixya which more closely matches your device. All things considered, maybe apply air pressure and stick the unit under water in a utility sink or big wash tub. Air leaks would bubble like a hole in a tire tube.
Hitachi nailer doesn't fire, it has no leaks. When trigger is pulled there is no back pressure from trigger
I've had that happen before and what I found was one of the Staples or nails had misfired and wedged before leaving the gun. read the manual on how to get to it for that particular model and also it might be a good idea to adjust your pressure accordingly to keep it from happening again. If the force isn't set proper then a nail could Jam , block the mouth and not allow any other nails to exit. It's very easy to do and not that hard to fix once you've done it at least once. Good luck.
