WIRE FEED WILL NOT WORK ON 180EN, PULLING TRIGGER

Check your wire speed theostat (potentiometer), that could be the reason there is no power for the motor drive.

Sparks flew from inside welder

Hi:

Hate to say it but sound like you blew the transformer. Sniff inside the machine and if it smells like burned paint/cable; then is time to call the maintenance guy. If you prefer to fix it your self, the part number you are looking for is: WE44120087. Make sure you make the smell test first.

The welder fan is running and when i push triger

Check the heat resistor which is located on the circuit board behind the wire speed dial! Looks like a white oblong component and tends to desolder itself through heat on the board! Resolder it back in and it should work again!

What should my gas pressure be set at

it realy depends on were you are welding,, if indoors at about 2 - 4 psi no more,,, if out of doors you will need a higher presher say 5 - 7psi
if the wind is blowing the gas away you wont be able to weld very well so keep out of the wind when out of doors all you realy need is a puff of gas to form a bubbel around your weld,,,

I would run a 10 AWG wire from the breaker to the outlet, if that is what you are asking. I have the same welder works great just wish I could find a spare wire roller.

Clarke 180 EN Rectifier

I have the same welder which has also just had the rectifier go bad but I haven't taken it apart yet. Only removed the cover and discovered the trouble is with the rectifier. If the washers/spacers you are talking about are the ones which are part of the rectifier assembly, I'd be happy to lay mine out in the order in which they go as I disassemble it and take a digital photo of them for you to look at.
I also have a question for you. I've learned that Clarke has filed for chapter 11 bankrupcy and are no longer selling welders or parts. I've contacted the local repair people in our area and have not found any one willing to help me locate the parts I need. Would you be willing to provide me with the name and contact information of the people who serviced your welder? My email address is [email protected] if you wish to respond to my offer or request.
Either way, thanks for you time and best of luck with your welder.

Help on settings

The instructions are on the other side of the panel that you lift to install your spool/wire. If they are missing call a distributor for it. Good Luck.
