Dewalt DC608K 18 Gauge 2-inch Cordless Brad Nailer Questions & Answers
I have a DC608 cordless
Hi,
You can go to this webpage and download the owner's manual which gives instructions: http://servicenet.dewalt.com/Products/Detail?productNumber=DC608K
You can also download a parts diagram and order parts here.
I looked through the manual and found that DeWalt's Brad Nailer does not require tools to remove jammed nails from the nose piece. I believe this is the problem with your nailer, unless it's empty. Some of these nailers will not fire if there's less than 6 nails in them.
Another feature on this nailer is the trip lock. It is a safety feature that prevents accidental firing. Any time you adjustments made to the nailer will automatically turn the trip lock to lock position. You'll find this lock on the right side, under the Dewalt label.
The instruction manual will explain all this.
Hope this helps. If it does, I would appreciate a vote. Thanks,
Handie Andie
My DeWalt nailer suddenly stopped
If the light keeps flashing ,then the battery is not charged enough to fire the gun. recharge the battery or buy a new one if it continues.
----------------------------
If the battery is new and properly charged and still you have the same problem in the nailer then, open the gun up and you will find that the springs attached to the trigger and the contact tip will not be in a position where they were supposed to be, and thus the contact tips continually pressing the electrical contacts. When you place these in their correct places and reassemble the gun it will start working.but if still the same exact problem then you open it up again and observe what happened when the trigger was pressed if it appears as the motor started and attempted to turn the crankshaft and bring the firing pin back into the cylinder, then its a motor problem in the unit.the motor wiring's are getting short.
----------------
In many cases it has been seen that motor is perfect but the wires of the motor are got cut in between you will find, the drive cable(s) have broken, probably at the attachment ends. Once you energize the motor, the drive belt turns the mechanism inside, and "cocks" the drive pin via these cables.

this will help.do it carefully.thank you for using fixya.keep updated.please do rate the solution.thanks.

Adjustment of sharpened cutter of porter cable 653 versa plane
There are two adjustments. First find the screw on the right side that allows loosening of rear baseplate. Once loose, another screw jacks the base up or down. They are both hex heads on mine.
Turn jack screw until a straight edge along the base just clears the cutter. Spin the cutter once to make sure both edges are the same depth and that both clear the straight edge.
For the front shoe, turn adjustment handle to zero. Remove the adjustment handle from the front shoe and find two vertical slots at the front. Two screws (hex heads) allow loosening of shoe. Once loose, the shoe can be adjusted by sliding up or down. With a straight edge held along the rear base and touching the front base, align the front shoe so straight edge barely clears blade and tighten screws. The front and back base should line up. Replace adjustment lever and recheck zero cut clearance as well as maximum depth. Readjust as necessary. If zero clearance is not an issue, the bases can be set to allow deeper cuts than factory specified. It's a powerful planer so if you're cutting softer woods, a deeper cut might be desired.
