How do i rekey the deadbolt to fit the doorknob
You would need to take it to a lock smith or an ace hardware. also bring one of the doorknobs so they can key it alike. Unfortunately, keying locks is not something that you can do without advanced equipment and experience.
I have several

Schlage deadbolt will not unlock even with the use of a key?
it sounds as though the linkage that pulls the deadbolt back has disengaged... if you undo the screws from the inside of the door and remove the manual knob there will be 2 more screws holding the key lock to the door. A thin flat bar is attached to the key lock that goes through the deadbolt and into the manual knob. This bar turns with the key, sliding the bolt on its track to lock and unlock the door. Once the lock is apart check the key in the lock to see if the bar turns when the key does. then see if there is anything that may be obstructing the deadbolt from sliding. The locks are pretty indestructible so if there is a problem it may have been from the install... perhaps the door is to wide for the lock to engage properly and the lock worked loose in the 6 months that it worked.
I have a two month
Hello My name is Lori and I work at Schlage Customer Service. If this is not a Schlage Key it may be possible that they did not cut the key to the correct code. Look on your key for the 5-digit key code and make sure the keys align up exactly - the keys also should be the same width. Also when you install this B362 you should install it with the katch extended and the keys out of the cylinder. Try some of these tips and if you still need help - please feel free to call us at Schlage Customer Service: 1-888-805-9837 Good Luck!
Schlage deadbolt installed about a month ago. The
my guess is that during installation the inside lock cylinders were 1/2 or a full rotation more in one direction than the outside cylinders. remove it from the door, assemble it and try it without installing it. If it doesn;'t work, take it back. If it's old, oil it. if that doesn't work- toss it- you've spent an hour on a $15 item.
Schlage B62 double sided lock
Hello. get a can of a penetrating lubricant called WD-40. Squirt a little into both key holes and let it sit for a couple of hours. Then insert the key and work it back and forth. If it is still frozen, repeat the treatment until you break it free. Joe
Can not get it off
I have been told the plate on the inside cylinder (where the key goes) comes off. Gently pry it off. Under that is the screws.
Stickey lock, have to jiggle and wobble key to
The best thing you can do is shave down a pencil(the lead)The lead shavings act as a lubricant, make a small pile of shavings and blow it into the key hole.Do not use a liquid lubricant,it'll gum up the lock, other then that you could try backing off the two screws holding the lock to the door, don't go so far as to have the lock move.hope I've helped...Don't for get to rate.....
Remove schlage deadbolt
Schlage B160 - need small screwdriver to insert at bottom of faceplate to pry cover off. Face plate appears flush, but with a penlight you can see the recess at the bottom to pop it off. Screws lie under the cover for disassembly. Seems to be a lock design improvement once you figure out how to remove the faceplate.
How do I unmount a schlage keyed deadbolt?
There should be two hole plugs on the face of the interior deadbolt housing, above the key slot. They must be pryed out to access the screws. Unless it is installed inside out, then the the plugs will be outside. Yes I have seen this before or I wouldn't have mentioned it.
Were were lock in my house, wouldn't work from the
spray with graphite first to clean put plunger back in side of door first then put lock side that has long rod sticking tru line up screw holes with holes in plunger then line up other side of lock and then put in screws tighten screws snug not over tight
New schlage deadbolt stuck in locked position
Make sure that the tang from the lock side actually engage the mechanism in other side of the door. If the tang is too short or not engaged the lock will not work. Also check that the two screws connecting the lock to the other side is actually tight.
Schlage deadbolt simply failed to unlock, with key
you can buy some "grafite" powder at lowes that is made for stiff locks, it will grease it up. if that doesnt do it the your problem may be in the plunger. might it be out of line? if so straighten it and make sure the it aligns with the strike plate on the door jamb. one of those are sure to fix it.
