Why does everything have to be digital?
I love the STANLEY 12 ft.

i image the 6 - 12" is a fairly expensive set. you could buy the 0-1" which has the same thimble lock. i have one at home. and switch them out. can be bought $100 or less brand new. or search for an ebay bargain.ive never heard of the thimble lock go missing or break before. its doubtful mititoyo supplies replacement parts for mics.

Very close, close, and minute measuring tool. Microscopic measurements. Itty ***** teeny weeny.
