While I was running on

First of all, here is a direct link to the ONLINE USER"S MANUAL for a similar model (9.31):

To view the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents.
You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there.

If your treadmill is similar enough to the one in the manual, then there are multiple safety features incorporated into the machine. See page 9 and 10 of the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for detailed instructions on their operation.

Acccording to the manual, TO RESUME RUNNING after the safety switch trips do the following:

Reattach the magnetic safety key to the display console.
Straddle the running belt.
Press QUICKSTART or the SPEED UP ARROW.
If required, enter the SAFETY CODE (which is 1234 unless previously changed by owner).
The belt should begin moving slowly again, so just step back on carefully while holding handles.

See page 50 of the Online User's Manual for more details about the SAFETY CODE to unlock the belt. As stated, the default Safety Code from the factory is 1 2 3 4.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any questions, have difficulty accessing the link, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

If this was at all helpful please click on the 4 Thumbs Up helpfulness rating icon you see on this page. The ratings are important and I truly appreciate your time and consideration.

Thank you very much and good luck.

Joe.

Have a precor 9.20.

First, inspect the walking deck for damage (scratches, gouges, worn surface) and check the belt for wear. Feel the outer edge of the underside of the belt, then the center. The center should be rough like the outer edge. If it is smooth or fuzzy, the belt is worn out. If deck and belt are OK go ahead and lube the deck. I think Procor uses a standard parafin wax you buy at the grocery store, but check your manual to be sure. Apply the lube to the walking deck and try the machine again.

You will need to lubricate the walking belt. When you go to lubricate it, do not use a silicone spray or anything with silicone in it. Instead, use a waxy lubricant or Teflon based. If the sound is coming from the front of the machine then check the drive belt that goes from the front roller to the motor. Lubricating and tightening generally corrects the problem. I'm guessing the internal fuse is blown, which is part of the safety feature when you pull the magnetic key off. You need to put the little magnetic key onto the "stop" area after each use, and it will re-set. If you take the key off "start" and the machine stops, you can't start again until you put the key on "stop". Once you do that, the main switch should work again.

Where can I order a plastic cover for the motor?

The only place that would possibly have the motor shroud would be Precor and they may say obsolete no longer available. This particular model # is not familiar to me since the common numbers on the older treadmills are 905e, 9.1, 9.17. 9.2 etc I assuming this was not intended to be sold in the USA.. I Suggest going to Precor's website and get the appropriate phone # to call.

Error 26 is what's known as a Motor Pulse Width Incorrect. It basically monitors the sensor signal and verifies that it's appropriate for the requested speed. If your machine uses an infrared sensor, check the line of sight between the optical eye and the sensor target, an array of black and silver wedges arranged like a pie. Ensure that it is 3/16" apart and that it's pointed at the larger point of the wedge section. Use an electronic cleaning compressed air cleaner to blow out any particles that could block it. Have a close look at the target, if it's torn or badly scratched, it will need to be replaced.

If the machine uses a hall effect sensor (magnetic) ensure the distance between the flywheel tooth and sensor is 3/16".

You can sometimes get this error if the speed sensor is faulty, but usually it will happen without you even touching the controls at that point because the lower board isn't receiving any signals from the sensor, or you will get a different error code.

Error message reads: Pace error #1

Errors 00 through Error 04 check upper PCA memory locations, RAM memory locations and EEPROM checksum during the power up test sequence. If a fault is found during the power up test sequence, the appropriate error code will be displayed.
These errors messages almost always indicate an upper console problem when they are consistently displayed. Failures causing these error messages to be displayed are rare.
If the error message is consistently displayed when the unit is powered up, the upper console should be replaced.
