  4. Specify the language settings that you want, and then click Next.
  5. Log in as a user who has administrative credentials, and then click OK.
  6. Click Dell Factory Image Restore.
  7. In the Dell Factory Image Restore window, click Next.
  8. Click to select the Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition check box.
  9. Click Next. The computer is restored to the default factory configuration.
  10. When the restore operation is completed, click Finish to restart the computer. The software is now installed as it was when the computer was first received.

I lost power in the middle of system restore need

There are several ways that you can launch System Restore in Windows 8; however, the easiest way to do so is with a Windows key shortcut. To use this shortcut, press [Windows] + [Break] to bring up the System window. Then, select System protection on the left of the screen.

Complete factory reset for dell inspiron 3520

Normally when an operating system is installed, it includes a factory reset on a drive D. To see if you have one, open my computer from the menu to view available drives. D drive should say "recovery" .if it does click on it to view the drive's contents and either click on Setup.exe or something.exe and follow the prompts. If your installation did not include a recovery partition, you may be able to download the version of windows from dell using your product key, Hope this helps

How do I do a factory reset from boot up?

I had a similar problem with one of my laptops. If the hard drive has been previously wiped clean (completely formatted) then the recovery partition that is put on the laptop is deleted. This partition is what lets the computer do the factory reset. If this is the case, the only option is to use the disk that you used to install your operating system or the disk that came with your computer. If you are like me, you will have to order a recover disk from dell. Make sure the recovery disk is the disk for the operating system, not hardware.

Check out Big Fish Games. It is a subscription service but they have all types of games including adventure and hidden object. You can also tryp Pogo since they have both a fee and subscription service. Last, but not least, you can try one of your local computer stores or the electronics section of "big box" stores like Target, Walmart, Kmart, etc.

I've got a dell inspiron 20 model 3052 series how do you reset it to factory settings or reset the password thought it was a monitor any help would be very greatfull!

Unfortunately, resetting a Dell Inspiron 20 model 3052 series to factory settings requires you to use a recovery disk or USB drive, as the system does not include a built-in resetting option. To reset your password, you will need to use a password or recovery disk. You can create a password or recovery disk using the Dell Support website.

Dell Precision M4600 will not go past POST, Stops at Preparing to enter setup

If your Dell Precision M4600 is getting stuck at the "Preparing to enter setup" stage during POST, you might want to try a few troubleshooting steps. 1. **Power Cycle:** Disconnect the laptop from the power source, remove the battery (if possible), and hold down the power button for about 15 seconds. Then, reconnect the battery and power source and try booting again. 2. **Reset BIOS:** You could try resetting the BIOS settings to their default values. To do this, look for a small button battery on the motherboard. Disconnect the laptop from power and remove the battery. Press and hold the power button for a few seconds to discharge any remaining power. Then, locate the battery, remove it for a minute or so, and put it back. This will reset the BIOS settings to default. 3. **Update BIOS:** If the issue persists, you might need to update the BIOS. Check the Dell support website for your laptop model and download the latest BIOS update. Follow the instructions to update the BIOS. 4. **Check Hardware:** If the issue is not resolved, it might be related to a hardware problem. Try removing and reseating components like RAM, hard drive, and any expansion cards. 5. **External Devices:** Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, external hard drives, printers, etc.) and try booting again. Sometimes, a faulty external device can cause boot issues. 6. **Diagnostic Lights:** Dell laptops often have diagnostic LED lights that provide information about hardware issues. Check the user manual for your laptop model to interpret these lights. If none of these steps resolve the issue, it might be worth seeking professional assistance or contacting Dell support for further guidance.
