Question edited for spelling, cannistor > canister. Question moved from Washing Machines to Vacuums. All question need 'make MODEL (what it is)'. Is this Electrolux that's now known as Aerus? If so, take it in to the Aerus Electrolux store for a tech to look at. You can find the nearest Aerus Electrolux store by following the instructions on the site at bottom of page.

It sounds like a problem with the power module in the vacuum. Without checking for myself, that's my best guess.

Do you need a new powerhead too or only the hose? If you need a new powerhead than I would recommend looking at the Imperium Pro Elite Attachment set. It is an excellent quality powerhead and hose. If you only need a new hose than you will need to contact the Aerus because they will be probably be the only company who can sell you a hose that wil be compatible with your powerhead. Turn the vacuum on without the hose.If this continues the motor may need armature brushes or the motor itself may be burned out...motors are not too expensive,I usually put "Lamb" motors in for around 139.00....Chris

The relay contacts are wired in series with the motor, circuit breaker and switch. The relay coil is wired in series with the transformer secondary circuit, the control wires to the valves in the wall. Also the on switch is wired in parallel with the control wires. You did not ask about the transformer but the primary windings are wired to be always on. If you need a picture I can draw you one.

Something may be keeping the brush roll from spinning freely which may have caused the belt to break.
