My electrolux Icon side by side counter depth

SO I have/had this problem. The knocking started almost 3 months ago when I got it. IT got to the point where the ice make will not work.
Just had the repairman out. He started out clueless but over the course of an hour he had the factory on the line, and got it resolved, I was watching over his shoulder.

The ice mold is on a cam. It drops down and around to the right to fill with water, and then back up into the center to freeze the water. HE got a kick out of how it worked, it is kind of cute.

When its going to the right to fill, there is a plate in the back right hand side that covers the copper freon line, it protrudes into the path of the ice mold. As ice/frost build up it bends it more to the point it will prevent the mold from swinging into the position to get water. Thats what happened to me.

There is a kit to fix. He did a temp fix:
1) With the Ice tray out.
2)Remove 2 screws on the front lower part of the ice maker and slide cover off.
3)On the right side 2 freon lines come into the ice maker there is a piece of plastic, maybe 2-3 inches square, with a slight offset to it. That's the problem piece. Remove it, and bend it a touch so it pulls it out of the path of the mold.
4) Reassemble.

WHen my kit comes, I'll just re-install it myself.

Problem w self-closing freezer door

Good Morning Jan, thank you for your post! Sounds like the hinges could possibly be worn out due to the weight of the doors and how they are open and closed. In this regard, I would highly recommend reaching out directly to the manufacturer to see if they have any updated or alternate door hinges that you can install yourself. Best regards!

Ice maker not making ice

Hello KC Breen - If your ice maker has stopped producing ice completely, please check these, in this order:

1. Your ice maker may be turned off. Look for the wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If the wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. If so, try one of these: If your ice maker has a small red plastic lever, lower it to lower the wire. If there's no plastic lever, simply lower the wire. In either case, the ice maker should begin producing ice again.

2. Also make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly.

3. When was the last time the filter was changed? Most side-by-side filters are recommended to be change approximately every 6-9 months depending on your water usage and frequency.

4. The ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice or have a clogged water filter. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts!

5. Also replace the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, if necessary. The ice maker head assembly may have broken parts. Look to see if the gears are broken. Check to see if the small plastic arms that rest against the ice rake are broken. If the ice maker head assembly is modular and you've found broken parts, you can just replace it.

Should these suggestions prove ineffective, I would recommend contacting an authorized service technician that will be able to assist you in the diagnosis and repair of your ice maker. If you do not have a professional connection, you have the option to visit the manufacturer website to find a service provider in your area.

Sencor start buzzing freezer working light in fridge off

Hello Frank Van Acker - Typically when the refrigerator is beeping or buzzing it indicates a warning of a possible malfunction or that it has detected an unsafe temperature inside. Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes. If it proves to be ineffective contact a professional to move forward accurately. The refrigerator could possibly be experiencing a communication problem with the temperature control/board or wiring failure.

My compressor runs for 5

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.
Be sure the BACK COVER is in place and hasnt been accidently removed.

The Electrolux refrigerator is not

First thing to check is if (a) the evaporator fan is running in the freezer and (b) if there is a build up of ice on the freezer wall. If the fan is not running in the freezer the ref. side won't cool. If there is a build up of ice on the freezer wall, then you a defrost system problem and there won't be any circulation to the ref. side. If you have a defrost problem, the defrost system consist of 3 parts: timer, bi-metal thermostat, and heaters. With fridgidaire more than likely the adaptive defrost board(timer) located in the fridge on the upper left side behide some white pastic is bad. If you change it go ahead and change the bi-metal thermostat, located behind the freezer wall, as well because its a very cheap part and will save you from having to do it later.
