Most likely it could be a dirty contact or something a long those lines. I would just keep printing until there is a quality issue then you would know the cartridge is empty. I would just live with it and use it until you have a real problem.

Is it possible to print a test page? Delete the print driver and reboot. Reinstrall print driver. Look in the manual to print a character set page usually you hold a button and turn on the the power. If that doesn't work put the file on a disk and go to your local copy center.

Here's something you can try. There was a model of Samsung color laser that had an issue with the cleaning blades in the toner cartridge or toner transfer roller assemblies.

There are two types. I believe yours uses a "classic" toner cartridge (rectangular with a toner transfer roller on one side and a metal plate almost touching the toner transfer roller).

The metal plate can be removed and the edges cleaned. When you remove it, inspect the edges. One edge is used to clean the excess toner from the roller as it turns. Very gently clean the edges with a soft cloth and some windex or alcohol. Reassemble and test.

The other type uses round drum shaped toner cartridges. These printers have a toner transfer assembly for each color inside the printer on the main image transfer unit. These toner transfer assemblies will also have metal plates on them which can be cleaned. They must first be removed from the toner transfer assembly, you may need a jewelers screwdriver to remove them.

Be careful, the cleaning edges of these metal plates can be very sharp.

Here we have 2 possibilities that causes the issues i) Hardware(printer) ii) software(Printer Driver)

Search and see the printer properties --> under Paper, you will see that the type of paper used can be chosen.

1. This apparently makes the printer behave differently when the default is not chosen. (Mostly)

2. Other factor is HEAT. Although there is no paper jammed in the laser printer, the laser printer may malfunction due to overheating. Therefore, if heat is the culprit, changing the paper type may not work.

3. If the issue is still not resolved, try to make a copy from the printer and if copy works fine, means the hardware is fine and issue with the driver.

4. If so then, right-click on printer icon and select delete.

5. Once old drivers are deleted, run the installation disc and click on add a device, follow onscreen instructions to complete the installation. Open printers and faxes window and then do right click on printer icon and select properties, click on print test page.

Check if it prints fine, if yes try to print from other application. I hope it will work.

Hello!

You must not have configure your printer to be shared that is why you can't find it in your network.

To share printer:
- go to Control Panel
- open Printer and Faxes
- select or right click your printer and click sharing
- on the Sharing menu, click share printer (that's it)

but if the problem still occurs, try checking your Windows Firewall settings, to do this:
- go to Control Panel
- open Windows Firewall
- at WIndows Firewall menu, click Exception tab
- in Exception tab, try to check if Printer and File sharing is enable.

Note: to find what are shared on a particular computer:
- at RUN command, type the ip address or computer name
(\\10.0.0.23 or \\samuelcomputer)

While I am not a Mac expert, I would check into the Mac's power settings for what the computer does when it goes into sleep mode.

Like a Windows computer, your Mac might give you a number of options on shutting down the monitor, hard drive, and other items, including the printer ports. If this printer is connected using a USB port, then ensure your USB is not controlled by the power saving settings because that very often is a target of power savings, and computers have an option to let the USB be controlled by the screen saver/power saver. As you can see, below, this port is controlled in that way. Your Mac may have a similar set of options.

I have the same problem. I think the system has been designed so you cannot or should not actually refill the toner - samsung have designed it so you have to buy a very expensive replacement and if you do a refill it stops the printing cycle working. The only solution is to reset the chip which requires a specialist tool and is not worth it. Put shortly samsung have designed a throw away product as the cost of a new set of toner cartridges exceeds the cost of a replacement identical printer from PC world. Think hard before you buy this one!!

It seems to be that you need a roller replacement. This is the part in the printer that slides the paper towards the ink. It could be that it's got loose and its taking in more than one piece of paper at a time.
I would recommend checking that nothing loose. Try placing one piece of paper in and wriggling it around if it seems to slack then it's clearly loose.

Are you running vista?
Most likely your network is being firewalled.
Check your network setting (control panel-->network and internet)
might as well temporarily remove your network password

Firstly you need to ensure that both devices have wireless, if the laptop does not, you will need to buy a dongle. The set up will be as with blue tooth, go to add hardware and select wireless on auto dicovery the laptop shoul pick up the printer and connect.
Even easier if you have wirless software that came with the laptop search there and connect. Remember to set the wireless to re connect at logon.
