broken screen on lg dare Broken touch screen. can it be replaced? got my phone wet for a second. dried it off. everything works, but my touch screen will not respond on the left side of the phone. water damage is not covered under warranty. i have insurance but it is the same as the warranty. I just got the phone a little over a month ago, so i cant exchange it with the 30 day thing.
You can buy a new water proof touch screen online and you will be able to go to a Verison store and have them install it for you. Also put the phone in a zip-lock bag full of uncooked rice for several weeks. Make sure the battery and phone are in the bag seperately.

every time i go to display settings my phone shuts off
Go into phone settings, then security after putting in your four digit code click on reset default. Your preference settings will be set to factory defaults and your user data will not be erased. DO NOT CLICK ON RESTORE PHONE! That will reset your phone and erase everything such as contacts and pictures.

Ahh the newest of my LG Dare frustrations. now the phone quit working. I can not hear callers, but they can hear me? The speaker phone works.?
anyone have this problem? Im about ready to toss this phone into the ocean and I can't find a tech support anywhere for this problem.

This ia stupid glitch with the phone, to fix it all you need to do is stick a head phone into the jack for about a minute. This somehow resets the audio setup because it doesnt have a microphone and then the audio is routed back to the speaker. I had to try this about 3 times before it workd. My phone did the same thing. Just put headphones in for a minute. :))

I own the LG Dare and I own the Chocolate, i want to make my LG Dare a prepaid phone. My Chocolate is already prepaid and i want 2 just make my LG Dare prepaid but i can't, so i need to unlock the phone, how do i do that?
Provider can give you the unlock code or a good telephone store can unlock it in 5 minutes for $15-25.

my lg dare has no audio i cant hear or be heard, I cant even hear the dial tone, how can i fix it? I am having the same problem with my dare. I tried plugging in headphones but it didnt help. I can hear music when I plug speakers in but nothing seems to fix the rest of the audio. I can't even turn on the speakerphone.
You probably plugged a headset that does not have a mic. after you unplug it your phone will think that the head set is still plugged in. these phones are stupid and after you unplug the headset it will still be looking for the mic. Plug in and out the headset rapidly and then your phone will give you a notice saying that there is no mic to the headset. this will fix your problem. P.S. keep insisting, this fixed my problem

when i was walking in the ocean at low tide i forgot i had my phone with me and i was walking through a puddle and it fell out of my pocket. I picked it up IMMEDIATELY.....it wasnt even in the water for 2 seconds. I immediately took out the battery and sim card and started drying all the water out with a shirt. I noticed the white spot in my phone turned pink so i ran inside and (found out after i did this that you arent supposed to) dried it with a hair dryer. Then i put it in a bowl of uncooked rice. I let it stay there over night and checked it this morning. This morning i checked it and it seemed like everything was working and i was so excited until i tried to press messaging (its a touch screen) . Should i let it sit in the rice for another day or another couple days? If there are any people really good with phones plz help.....my phone is brand new and I really like it!!
Put it in a ziplock bag of uncooked rice for several weeks. And make sure the battery is out of it. So put in the battery and phone but they should be apart.

My Lg Dare says Camera Start Error. It has done it before and I think that i just need to get rid of Pictures... is this true?
No, don't get rid of the camera....mine did this yesterday! I read a solution posted on this site by someone else. Shut the phone down, take off the back cover, remove the battery, put it back in, then push down pretty hard with your thumb over the "3.2 Megapixels" near the flash. Then replace the cover and turn the phone back on....it will work! You probably dropped it at some point and loosened the camera. I think that's what happened to mine. It works like a charm again! You don't need to delete pictures yet, unless your memory card is full too. Let us know if this fixes your problem!
