If your SkyGolf came with software, you should install it first. If you installed it and it does not work, go to the software and check for updates.
If that fails to work, UNINSTALL the program, and re-install it.
Make sure you DO NOT connect the device to the computer until the software is fully installed.
Check for updates after installation, and the reboot.
Then attach your device to the computer, and it should recognize it.

5-7 mins is not unusual in many cases. Battery condition has a lot to do with the time it takes to establish connection. Recharge or replkace batteries with better quality ones and keep well charged up if you use rechargeable ones

SG is no longer manufacturing this but you can try a generic PC serial cable ( db9 to 2.5 mm jack) from M2 cables or local radio shack.

I had the same problem. I bought a 2.5mm (3/32") stereo submini plug, a 9 position d-sub connector, and a d-sub connector hood. This link shows the correct wiring:

if the device got wet while the power was on` it most likely shorted out components in the device and you will need a new one. if its worth your time and money you can try purchasing a new battery, but chances are the device still has water inside and is shorting it still. dis assembly and inspection of inside cavity is the only way to guarantee that it really is DRY completely, but is illogical to try to take these devices apart ~ electronics dropped in water have to pretty much be called defective after immersed.

There is no problem with this as such, all you need to do is sign in and go to terms, under the terms, screw down, you will see subscription program, read the details there in very well, during your reading, you will see two places in capital letters that reads CLICK HERE, you can use the second one to cancel your subscription and re-register as a new customer or the first one to change your payment information.

But i advice you use the second one to cancel and re-register so that you can fill in the necessary thing you want to modify.

USB cables are cheap. It won't hurt to have two, because you'll find yours just after you buy another one.
