I had this issue on my LG blu ray player before and found a fix. Link is attached, but here is the summary of the issue:
Turns out is was an
audio issue that causes the restart. Quick fix is to hit the audio button when the movie starts (near the bottom of the remote) and use the ">" button to change the audio to "2 Eng" (2.0 CH). It's the TrueHD audio of 1.0 CH that causes the system error. I believe you may encounter this on a few other recent Disney releases with TrueHD audio (not sure if your disc is from Disney as well). Not sure if there is a firmware update to fix this, but it's worth a shot to call the 1-800 number on the top of the player. (1-800-243-0000 LG Support)Hopefully this fix works for you and others experiencing the same problem!

If the drives Laser head is misaligned it won't track properly and thus it cannot read or burn discs. A copy of a disc may not work if burned on another machine either. If it is new or in warranty, replace it.
