If it physically doesn't go through, try to push a heavy stock card or decent thick laminated paper and try to feed it through. There maybe a mylar (plastic sheet) flipped backwards or a piece of debree stuck in paper path of your Document Feeder. This may resolve 80% of issue. The rest could be broken sensor flag (actuator) or dirty sensor that is not reading the paper passage (or it the sensor is faulty all together) The amount of staples, paper clips, Bluetag and other junk I pulled from ADF over the years..Bucket loads :) Good luck.
