Sounds like you have Norton Internet Security running or maybe some fancy firewall such as Zone Alarm.
Go into the management console of your anti virus and see if you can find the internet protector side of it and turn it off (there might be a 'pause' option) to check. If everything works there might be a security level setting you can just lower a bit to still give you the protection.
If you have a fancy firewall it's very dependant - Windows already has one and if you use a router for t'internet there should be one on that. Third party firewalls on the pc tend to just give problems browsing unless you really go to town configuring them. I'd ditch it myself but that's just me..
If it's neither of these go into Internet Explorer and in Tools-Options on the Advanced tab click the 'reset Internet Explorer settings' button.

pull out the pwr cord and press the pwr button for one min and then release. this process is called as power drain. replug the pwr cord at the back of the computer and check. if its works then good or else replace the SMPS the power unit inside the computer. for sure it has gone bad. power unit is easily available in nearby retail outlets.

You need a software DVD/CD writer program. Nero 8 is free and really easy to use.

try to reinstall the device driver of your cd rom, i also have my cd rom but it works with my service pack 3, it may somehow impossible that it wont work unless your cd rom becomes faulty due to power surges, etc.

try to use firefox or opera or at least upgrade to last version of I.E.
and try to disable antivirus or firewall maybe you added a wrong setting.

This happens sometimes due to SMPS failures. Try to change with other SMPS with same watts.

If it happens same then the problem with the board.

Try to consult a technition.

First check its RAM module, reseat or clean it with soft eraser. Do this when the power is off and unplugged.

Or check its video card also.If you have spare one test which one is loosing contact.

What you need to do is go to download.com, and in the search box at the top, type in "Anti-Malware" and click search. The first program that should show up on the results should be Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Download and install this program, then run it. Whatever it finds, let it remove.

Is the upper fan in your power supply?

Your computer actually has 3 fans, one attached to the back of the case, one on the processor, and one in the power supply.

At any rate, fans are cheap. Go to Mwave.com, newegg.com, zipzoomfly.com, tigerdirect.com,.......you get the idea.

Measure your fan, preferably in mm or cm, and order several of the proper sizes and replace all three.
