Hello Scott,Your new ac is OVERCHARGED with freon.Shut it off,let it cool down and recover/remove freon. The compressor has an internal pressure valve that makes the (hiss). It will stop when the charge is adjusted.Call them back to do it.

It could be that it is not charged correctly. Check the insulated copper
line outside if it is sweating and the condensor is discharging hot air, then the ac is doing all that it can. Check the evaporator inside to see
if the drain has condensate coming out of it.
Getting the heat out of the attic is a good idea, but you must have enough make-up air in the attic for the fan. If you do not have enough
make up air, it will start to draw air from inside the house. One way to check this is if you have a gas water heater and or furnace. If you put
a flame by the exhaust pipe in the basement and it blows it out, then you now have a backdraft problem.
Run the AC withoutthe fan, my real guess is the unit is not properly
charged or you do not have a big enough AC unit.

I have a GoodMan CKL 36-1L
The capacitor is located right inside the electrical compartment on the side of the unit (where the copper valves are). You will have to look at the old "cap" to see what it says, sometimes the condenser fan motors are replaced and different size caps are used. Or you can look at the fan motor and somewhere on the label it will tell you the size you need. It will usually read like 30/5 micro farads. You can pick these up at Locke or another A/C supply store for fairly cheap. If you have a multimeter with micro farads on it, you can check if its good or not by pulling the wires off and touching both leads to the Herm and Com, if the reading is close to what is labeled, your okay. Be sure to wire up the cap exactly how it came off. Hope this helps!

My fan isn't running but I can feel cold air
If the indoorcoil is froze, the insulated suction line would be froze as well. If you are able to change the
blower speeds Black-High Speed with Blue-Med High
and nothing changes you could have a blower problem

you have a possible thermal overload problem in your furnace blower motor dirt will cause this problem when it doesnt allow air across the windings of the blower motor if not dirt the motors going bad and getting hot use a shop vac and eliminate dirt keep your filter changed and your evaperator a coil may also need checked for cleanliness this will require cutting into plenum my advice someone qualified and remember dirt kills

Fan
Spin the fan by hand. It should turn freely. If not it will cause it to overheat. If there are any ports to oil the fan bearings you can try that but you may need a new fan motor.

I HAVE A CARRIER AC FAN IS RUNNING REALLY SLOW!
is the motor hot to the touch? does it shut off while running?
You may have a bad running capacitor? for this motor
or you may have a 825 rpm motor that seems slow and is normal, compared to 1075 rpm?

I have goodman CKL49-1, air is not blowing, the
Your evaporator fan motor has quit. You need to find out if it is a relay or the fan motor. These systems come in various different setups. Updraft (vertical) or lay down (horizontal) you have to gain access to the motor and get it out. Turn off all power to the unit, look for any breakers at the panel. open the panel usually the same panel to access the filters. The motor and squirrel cage fan, will come out as one. look closely for rails at the top to slide the motor and cage out. Your wiring should unplug from the top close to the capacitor. you then can unbolt the motor - take pictures so you can reassemble it. Take the motor to a local HVAC store for a match. Be sure you get a new capacitor to go with the new motor.

I am installing a condenser
Same as heat pump with the exception you will only be using two thermostat wires. C & Y. They will power the contactor coil.

Heater works fine but when you turn on Air
MOST LIKELY NEEDS NEW BOARD , THERMOSTAT , TRANSFORMER , MAYBE FUSE ON THE BOARD AND
CHECK FOR WIRE BREAKS AND PROPERLY CONNECTED WIRES
AND IF IT STOPS THAT SUDDENLY THE COMPRESSSOR MAY
BE BAD SO CHECK FOR A GROUND OR TRIPPED BREAKER, AND
BURNT WIRES..CHECK FOR SIMPLEST 1ST. NARROW IT DOWN
AND MAKE SURE OUTSIDE UNIT IS RECEIVING POWER AND
CHECK CAPACITOR. LOOK AND CHECK FOR DISCONNECTED WIRES INSIDE AND OUT.

Goodman A/c not cooling the fan not turning
If its the outside fan not running check the breaker and the fuses in the disconnect(some may not have fuses) if that is not the problem but you can hear the compressor running it could be seized fan motor, failed capacitor, faulty contactor, bad wiring. Turn the breaker off to the unit and try to spin the fan with a long screw driver or something similar but be careful not the bend the fan blade, If the fan will not move don't force it you need a new motor,If the fan spins freely move on open the cover and check the wiring but becareful the capacitor can still have a full charge and shock you even with power off. Other the that you will need a volt meter that can check volts,
amps, and capacitors to futher test the unit I suggest calling a local HVAC contractor and having the unit repaired and tuned up, by having a tune up done you can recoup the cost of the repair with the energy savings from the tune up.
