HP 530 wont boot Windows 7 DVD

the 530 came with XP or vista,. never W7, the HP support only supports those 2 OS, period. F9 key boots to anything and DVD , the DVD-r is bad or the DVD drive is bad, why not boot to USB stick? if that works then the DVD is bad. (burned wrong or drive itself bad.see? Tell us what media you are using? (WHO's from Where?) tell us what you want to do: 1: run XP,Vista or W7, what? if running XP or VISTA before, the F10 ( changed to F11 later) F10 loads the OS fresh, off the working HDD, partition called the HP recovery partition, this is how to get the 530 back as day one. if you use a Microsoft media, it will be missing key HP drivers and will be missing all HP software. a fact. again, where did you get your media.? my guess, is you MADE it from DVD-R , right.? using what ISO, from Microsoft or from HP? using what method (I use Imgburn? free, and is best) ask how. this PC is carbon dated at 2008, (1 more year of support left, hint) be wise to download all the below so when HP deletes all this soon. you have it. or buy the HP media kit. and never need to ask for it again. hp sells it. buy it. now. while still sold. btw2, many DVD drives are bad, or need service or cleaning and fail to read disks properly, for sure huge OS loads ! and when DVD does work , it takes 1/2 day to load windows we use USB sticks today, that work all the time and run fast. burn stick instead of the disk. and win. we use RUFUS to burn the ISO to STICK. (ask, millions do) then, F9 boot to the USB stuck called Udisk. it boots fast and works. (at least installs fully) if using MS, w7.iso, there is no guarantee it will work with all drivers working on a 530. you tell us... the Microsoft w7 load will takes a license key , the bottom sticker on the 530 has COA sticker , for OEM XP or VISTA, (unstated by you) only OEM Disks installs work with that sticker, if you buy W7 , its called retail and can work if luckly , sans all HP software with it. here is the official page. this works, every time. but MS does not support it now, updates are dead. and more. at MS now. they ended it 3 years ago.. and Vista last month. (yes, 1 patch was released for the In the news ciberattack) https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-530-notebook-pc/3375953/model/3375995

D:/ is not accessible. Disk structure is corrupted and unreadable.

You may have simply 'cooked' the DVD drive and the motherboard on it fried. Replacement drives start at 20 quid for a desktop and 30 quid for a laptop. It's held in with 1 screw if a laptop. Remove the drive, get the model number and replace it.

It wont charge morethan 60%

If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.
