Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.
This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

I came home to find

Hello,
Common problem with this TV is the power supply module.
Check the power supply; look for bad caps with leaking/bulging tops, check to see if you have standby +5vdc at the power supply connector, the front red indicator will not be on if you do not have this +5vdc standby voltage due to shorted out Q7 and ZD4.

Hope this help in solving the problem, Take care...

How do I turn off Closed Captioning on a model 837

Press MENU on your remote. Use the down arrow to select CAPTIONS and press ENTER. Use the arrow keys to select OFF and press ENTER. I don't happen to have that model of tv in front of me to confirm the exact wording that may appear in your menu but you should have something very similar to this.

Mitsu DLP Wd-62525 timer light

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The green LED on the front panel of the TV that normally blinks when turned on after a power failure or when unplugged: the green light is supposed to flash for about 1 minute while both microprocessors boot up: If it won't stop blinking it means that they aren't communicating with each other. This issue is due to 1000uF/16 volt power supply capacitors in the "DM module" (one of the two onboard microprocessors). These capacitors are apparently small as compared to load they get & due to this they will eventually fail (usually after about 3 years). Or else they fail when there are voltage fluctuations in the circuit above 16 volts. It is recommended to install either 1000uF/25 volt or 1000uF/35 volt capacitors as replacements, so that they will be more than ample to handle any voltage spikes that will occur. To do the repair you’ll need to take the back off the TV apart in order to remove the faulty DM module and need to desolder the old capacitors on DM board and install. Also check the grounding straps which are essential to the proper functioning of the DM module. All this is only recommended to be done by someone who has electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components else contact a qualified repair tech and let them know what the exact issue is with your TV. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Device button

A lot of mitsubishi tvs have faulty buttons or switches. It is likely this (unhooking the control panel will solve) or could be a faulty device that is crashing your tv (hdmi is really the only possible input that can do this)
Unhook all inputs, or just change devices on the remote. If it apprears to be the buttons, you can disassemble the tv to find the wires that go to the button assembly and unhook there and just use the remote from there on out. You could also repair ($20 plus time) or get it repaired - estimate = 150-250

The color is off on our tv, how do we fix it?

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.
