Hi,
There are many reasons for a dehumidifier to not work or collect water.
Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrong with their dehumidifier.

generally they freeze up for two reasons. very low humidity or the temperature in the room is too cool

for low humidity it's best to cycle the dehumifier (so it goes off occasionally) using the control for it.

for temperature you may have to use a heater or warm up the room in some fashion.

most likely the reasons for it starting to do that is a season change of low humidity/cooler weather.

i don't know. on my generic unit, mine won't start untill i reseat my bucket.

the purpose of an ac unit is to remove water from the atmosphere so water will be collected and needs to be drained In effect that removal of the water from the atmosphere is what makes you feel cool as you are allowing the skin to perspire more easily

Never heard of a metric garden hose connection. Was this unit purchased in the US or overseas? Check box or bag with manual. There may be an adapter in there.
