What does an E2 code mean? I have a Haier Dehumidifier that is about a year old, I emtied the bucket and put the bucket back into place and hit the start button and nothing happen I unplugged the unit and error code E2 keeps comming on

Try setting you temperature or fan speed lower this may help.
In order for the unit to remove moisture the coil has to be below the dewpoint.

if the compressor is really running (not just the fan) and it doesnt cool the evaporator coils then it has lost its refrigerant (likely r134a) .. thats a special job to repair.. there also has to be a leak that must be repaired .. then the system is refilled and possibly a dryer added .. if the fan is running only, then there are many other possibilities .. .. you shouldnt run the unit long since part of the cooling for the compressor comes from the refrigerant .. it will shorten its life if run a long time without it ..

was it wintered in a warm or a freezing area-which? freezing storage is bad news for these. it somehow makes all of the freon leak out

i don't know. on my generic unit, mine won't start untill i reseat my bucket.

the purpose of an ac unit is to remove water from the atmosphere so water will be collected and needs to be drained In effect that removal of the water from the atmosphere is what makes you feel cool as you are allowing the skin to perspire more easily

Never heard of a metric garden hose connection. Was this unit purchased in the US or overseas? Check box or bag with manual. There may be an adapter in there.
