I have a 2010 chevy impala and there is a clicking sound that comes from my dash can you help me please?

A common cause is the heater blend door. This is a little door under the dash that determines how much warm air to mix with cold air from outside for your heater. Sometimes moving the temperature control to a different setting can reset a stuck door. There are hundreds of other possible causes, but this is where I would start.

Would the defrost timer cause the fridge not to cool

In one post you saud the fans run but not the compressor. I believe that either the compressor sart relay, overload and run capacitor are the most likely problem causing the compressor to not run. You also could have a defective compressor so until you check the compressor I would wait before buying a lot of parts. Unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel that covers the compressor. There should be 3 wires going inside the cover of the compressor. Mark all 3 and mark their location so if compressor is OK you can put them back in same order. The plastic cover may snap on and you may need to squeeze the sides to unlock the cover and sometimes there is a metal clip holding the cover in place. Remove the cover. May look hard but it's simple. There will be three connections under the cover and 2 will go through the start relay. Unplug them leaving the three prongs exposed. They may be marked R =Run, S=Start and C=Common. Set your meter on continuity and then begin by testing 2 at a time until you have checked S to R and R to C an C to S and S to R again. You should get a reading all the way around. If no reading between any of the pairs as you go around you should get no reading between any two the compressor has an open winding and is defective. Then if it passes that test then touch one probe to R and the other to the copper pipes or clean metal on outside of compressor, then S to metal outside and C to metal outside. If you get a reading this way even just a little. The compressor is a burnout. Then let me know what you find. Thanks, Sea Breeze

The freezer temperature is too high.

I've made a mistake before with thinking that I was setting the adjustment correctly on a refrigerator before, sometimes those dials are hard to read if there is a graphic scale, or symbols etc. Instead of numbers with the highest number being the coldest setting. Anyway make sure the temp setting is set correctly, these are found in the refrigerator side.(yes even for the freezer, so it does'nt freeze up) I adjust mine all of the time, things only need to be so cold right.(helps my elect bill) Make sure those special compartments have clear air passages to them. best regards.

My door won't stay shut. How can I adjust the door

First of all is this top freezer/refridgerator new or has the consumer had it for awhile? If not new, could have frozen food, piece of ice, etc obstructing the door. If you have frost(ice build-up) you could probably turn down the temp adjustment, might not need to be quite so cold, just a suggestion. Open the door and check the seal for damage, there is a magnetic strip in the seal that sticks to the body of the fridge keeping it shut along with vacuum etc. Check seal before calling service (800) # for further advice/ servicing. Good luck, best regards.

The freezer is cooling but the refrigerator

Hello,
The defrost drain is blocked..This is where the water goes to in the bottom of your freezer when it goes through the defrost (removal of ice from the freezer coil) cycle.Seems like it is blocked with water or ice.
Unplug the refrigerator, empty out the freezer compartment
pull off the back panel or the bottom panel (in the freezer compartment) Look for that defrost drain hole..
pour small amounts of HOT tap water onto it and then sopping/absorbing it away with a sponge or dishcloth. Repeat this until I get the water to go down the drain tube..
hope this help......

Haeir HRF10 refrigerator

Remove coil on back of refrigerator very gently and support the coil against a kitchen chair or counter. On the back of the refrigerator there is an access panel. Remove 4 screws holding the cover. Remove the bottom of the freezer compartment by removing screws and pulling bottom straight out. Remove Styrofoam panel from freezer by cutting tape along side edge. Once the Styrofoam panel is removed you will see fan blades. O n the front of the fan blade there is a spring. Pull the spring off by pulling straight forward with pliers or fingers. Remove the 3 screws holding the fan motor to the refrigerator in the rear access panel. The Motor should now be free. Unplug the plug from the connector by lock latch and pulling straight up. Now you must free the fan blade from the fan motor. Grasp the fan motor and pull straight out. This fan blade is really hard to get off. Try separating the two halves of the blade, where you removed the spring, with a screw driver. The motor is available from Repairclinic.com. Good luck.

Freezer is cold cold....fridge is at approx 50 degrees

Hello lmk400,
Welcome to fixya,

Haier HRF10 Top Freezer Refrigerator
You siad, your freezer is cold cold....fridge is at approx 50 degrees What could it be ????????

1. The first thing it could be is that you have a freezer that is packet to the ceiling.
And so full that it's articles are covering the air vents found in the rear of the freezer.
They are need to be clear for the cold air to circulate form and to the fridge compartment.
Yes that is correct!
The freezer and the fridge both share the same air and to restrict the air causes the other
to get warm.
And will eventually burn out your fan motor or possibly your compressor!

OR

2. Your fan motor is already burned out.
Try checking this and clearing the vents.
It will take some hours to get cold and all night to reach peak temperature, if this is your reason!
If not you should then try turning off the fridge AND, then unplugging it for five minutes.
This should reset the system if there is an electronic glitch!

If all this fails you may be low on freon and need service to add some.

If the fridge was left open a crack all night or all day by accident it will cause this!
or if you go shopping and while unloading or loading the fridge with the door wide open running back and forth to the kitchen table for some extended time to!
Gather all the cold stuff near the fridge and put them in quickly!

I gave you a lot to work with and I hope the first two suggestions are the fix and solve your problem.
Let me know!!!!

Huuum
Please rememebr to leave me a rating at our fixya site!

My haier 10.5 model 10TG31SW is not cooling neither top or bottom any clues

If your Haier 10.5 model 10TG31SW refrigerator is not cooling, there could be a few different issues causing the problem. Here are a few things you can check:
  1. Check the thermostat: Ensure that the thermostat is set to the appropriate temperature. If it is set too low, the fridge will not cool properly.
  2. Check the condenser coils: The condenser coils may be dirty or clogged, preventing the refrigerator from cooling properly. Clean the coils with a brush or vacuum.
  3. Check the door seal: Make sure the door seal is tight and not damaged. If the seal is not tight, cold air will escape and the refrigerator will not cool properly.
  4. Check the evaporator fan motor: If the evaporator fan motor is not functioning properly, it could cause the refrigerator not to cool.
  5. Check the compressor: If the compressor is not functioning properly, the refrigerator will not cool. It may need to be replaced by a professional.
  6. Check the refrigerant level: If the refrigerant level is low, it can cause the cooling system to fail. This is a job that should be done by a professional with the right equipment and experience.
  7. Check the defrost system: If the defrost system is not working properly, the evaporator coils will frost over and the refrigeration will not work.
  8. Check the power supply: Make sure the fridge is properly plugged in and that the outlet has power.
Please note that it's also possible that there could be other issues causing your refrigerator not to cool, so it may be best to seek the help of a professional if the above steps do not resolve the problem.

Is there any way I can delete the alarm beep when doors are left open on my new Haier fridge HSBS610IS please?

It depends on the model of your Haier refrigerator. Many newer models of Haier refrigerators have a feature to disable the alarm beep when the doors are left open. To disable the alarm beep, you will need to check the user manual of your refrigerator for specific instructions on how to do this, as the process may vary depending on the model. Here are a few general steps that could help you to disable the alarm beep:
  1. Look for a button or switch labeled "alarm" or "door alarm" on the control panel of your refrigerator.
  2. Press and hold the button or switch for a few seconds until the alarm stops beeping. This should disable the door alarm.
  3. In some models, you can disable it through the settings menu of the control panel, look for the alarm setting and turn it off.
  4. Look for the manual of your refrigerator, it should have the information on how to do it.
If you can't find a way to disable the alarm beep, or you are not comfortable with following the instructions, it's best to contact the manufacturer or a professional for further assistance.

The wire that fixes to freezer compartment with a metal prong has come adrift

It sounds like the wire you're describing is the defrost thermostat. The defrost thermostat is responsible for controlling the defrost cycle of the refrigerator. The flat piece of metal with hooks at each end that you mentioned is likely the clip that attaches the thermostat to the evaporator coils in the freezer compartment. To reattach the thermostat, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Locate the evaporator coils in the freezer compartment. The coils are typically located in the back of the freezer.
  2. Carefully place the hooks of the clip onto the evaporator coils.
  3. Insert the metal prong on the end of the thermostat wire into the clip.
  4. Ensure the wire is properly seated in the clip and that the clip is securely fastened to the evaporator coils.
  5. Put back the cover panel of the freezer compartment
  6. Check that the thermostat wire is not pinched or crimped and that it has enough slack to move freely.
  7. Plug the refrigerator back in and turn it on.
It's important to note that working with the refrigeration system could be dangerous and it's always recommended to contact a professional if you're not comfortable with the task.

Deep freezer not freezing food and keeps making a clicking sound.

It sounds like your Haier deep freezer is having an issue with the compressor and cooling system. Here are a few things you can check:
  1. Check the compressor: Make sure the compressor is running and not too hot to the touch. If the compressor is not running or is hot, it may be faulty and will need to be replaced.
  2. Check the compressor's overload protector: The overload protector may have tripped, check to see if it is tripped and reset it if necessary.
  3. Check the compressor's capacitors: They could be damaged and need replacing.
  4. Check the evaporator fan motor: If the evaporator fan motor is not functioning properly, it could cause the freezer not to freeze.
  5. Check the defrost system: If the defrost system is not working properly, the evaporator coils will frost over and the refrigeration will not work.
  6. Check the thermostat: Ensure that the thermostat is set to the appropriate temperature. If it is set too low, the freezer will not freeze properly.
  7. Check the power supply: Make sure the freezer is properly plugged in and that the outlet has power.
  8. Check the clicking sound: If the clicking sound is coming from the compressor, it could be the compressor's relay switch, which is responsible for turning the compressor on and off. This could be the issue and will need to be replaced.
Please note that if a compressor is a sealed unit and you're not able to charge it, it's best to contact the manufacturer or a professional for further assistance.

I have an Haier PRCS25TDAP Side-by-side refrigerator that won’t stop dinging. How can I stop it?

If your Haier PRCS25TDAP side-by-side refrigerator is dinging and you're unable to stop it, there could be a few different issues causing the problem. Here are a few things you can try to fix it:
  1. Check the door: Make sure all the doors are properly closed and aligned. If the door is not closed properly, the refrigerator will think it's open and will continue to ding.
  2. Check the door switch: Make sure the door switch is properly aligned and not damaged. The door switch is responsible for detecting when the door is open or closed and can cause the panel to malfunction if it is not working properly.
  3. Check the control board: If the above steps do not resolve the problem, the control board may be faulty and will need to be replaced.
  4. Check the settings: Make sure the temperature settings are correct and not accidentally changed.
  5. Check the ice maker: If the ice maker is not functioning properly, it could cause the refrigerator to ding.
  6. Check the water supply: If the water supply is turned off or clogged, the refrigerator will ding continuously.
  7. Check the water filter: If the water filter is clogged, the refrigerator will ding continuously.
If you are not familiar with any of these steps or if the problem persists after trying these solutions, it's best to contact the manufacturer or a professional for further assistance.
