Freezer works fine, refrigerator does not chill
Refrigerators draw air from the freezer to cool them. There are several possibilities. First check to see if you need to defrost the freezer, this can cause a blockage stopping the air to the refrigerator also make sure that there is nothing blocking the air flow in the refrigerator.
You can set the freezer colder and turn up the refrigerator setting dial.
If these don't work it could be the fan that is supposed to circulate the air to the refrigerator is not working. The door switch for the light often turns the fan off while the refrigerator door is open.
If the items in the freezer aren't frozen hard then you most likely need you system recharged or there may be something wrong with the compressor.
My fridge is not cold, but the freezer on the top
Since the freezer has the greatest demand for cooling, there is a fan which distributes some of the cold air through the fridge; this fan has likely failed.
When you hear the compressor running, hold your hand inside the fridge near vents in the back of the upper shelf.
If you feel no air circulating, the fan is bad.
Not knowing your unit, I'm not sure how you access the fan motor, it could be from the back or from inside one or the other compartment.
The fans are not expensive but the labor can vary a bunch depending on how tough it is to access the fan and the area in which you live.
I would call their service center after you have checked as described and state that the fan has failed and needs replacement.
Ask them for a quote or at least a 'not to exceed' price.
There are frozen water droplets on the inside
Hi,
This is nothing to be worried about. Perhaps you placed something in the refrigerator that gave off a bit of condensation which went to the top and froze on the coldest part of the refrigerator because the freezer coils are just above that.
When the defrost cycle happens these droplets will thaw and drop or just eventually evaporate harmlessly. If large quanities of ice start to form then you should be worried and look into the problem more seriously.
I hope this will help you to solve your problem.
Thanks for using Fixya!!

I have a Haier Refrigerator, Model HTE18WAAWW-08.
Hi, this is caused sometimes by Teens and Adults holding the door open with there hand on the upper corner resting as they look for goodies, I do this. This sometimes will cause the door to loosen up and move down a wee bit. Look over the hinges on the door, they should be adjustable to see if they have moved. I am sure this is the problem. You can loosen some more, and raise or lower the door. It would be a lot better to have another set of hands to help with this. This will take care of the freezer door.Best of Luck, Sincerely,

Oklahoma Freezer cold fridge warm fan gets Ice build up !
You should not have to manually defrost. Your auto defrost system is not working. Check the timer usuall in the frig compartment near the thermostat ( a small hole, use a screwdrive flat tip 1/4" to rotate the timer till it clicks starting the defrost cycle) check freezer in 10-15 min should be defrosted if not you will need to check the heater and thermostat located behind the rear or bottom panel of the freezer.
The defrost timer could be under the box in the front behind kick panel or in the rear by the compressor.
My freezer teperature is fine, well below zero as
You have already dianosed the problem. Now take that cover off in the freezer and see if you can get that fan to work, it is your problem and you can replace it IF it is bad or lube it's bushings and see if it will work a few more years. (use 3 in 1 oil) Gook luck!
THE SEAL TO THE BOTTOM REFRIGERATOR IS LOOSE!
OK Put your foot aganst the bottom of the door. now i want you to push or pull kind of hard, Start light then get stronger as needed.
Keep shutting the door and checking the fit till you get it just right. you can do this. my wife showed this to me. hope it helps you.

My freezer keeps icing up and my fridge won't get cool
The small cooling fan in the freezer compartment that sends chilled air to the food side is defective and needs replacement. Sometimes that are only frozen stuck.
When you receive advice from this website you have to understand that without the item in front of us, we are only able to provide "a best guess" as to what the problem might be based on you description of the defect. If you haven't described a clear and precise description of the defect you decrease the chances of an accurate reply. Thank you.

Refridgerater doesnt get cold enough.
Things to check.......Is the evaporator (freezer) fan motor running? If not you could have a bad motor
Do you see a build up of frost on the interior rear wall of the freezer? Problem in the defrost system. This includes the heater, terminator or control.
In addition a bad fresh food damper control or blocked return air duct could be restricting airflow into the fresh food compartment.
Ideal temps should be 0 to 10 above in the freezer and 36 to 42 in the fresh food compartment. This can be measured by submerging a thermometer in a cup of vegetable oil that has been in the freezer for 24 hours. The same can be done in the fresh food compartment where a cup of water will do the trick. Higher freezer temps could indicate a more serious problem in the sealed system.
My evaporator core keeps freezing up
Replace the heater, check the compressor for proper volts. If you coil is icing up then it is a problem with either the heater (most likely) or the defrost but unit would power down and not let the compressor come on if this was the cause

The thermostat that controls when the compressor needs to run has probaly quit.
GE refrigerator 12 years old runs continuously, exterior warm
Probably not. Newer (and I mean under 15 years old or so) refrigerators may run more % of the time than older units, but are using far less energy while running, so total energy consumption is actually less. The newest energy star models often use less electricity than a single incandescent light bulb uses if left on 24/7. If your run times are noticeably longer just recently, and there have been no other significant changes to account for it (like more and / or longer door openings or a warmer ambient temp., etc.) then you may have caught a defrost problem or bad door gasket problem early. The warm temp on the outer case near the freezer is to prevent condensation from forming in those areas, and is normal. (as a matter of fact, older refrigs often used low wattage electric heaters for that task, almost all newer units use waste heat from the cooling system to accomplish that task) Please don't bother rating this solution, as anything but a Fix-Ya lowers my overall score. Thanks.
