RedOctane Guitar Hero III Wireless Kramer Striker Guitar Controller for Playstation 2 Questions & Answers
I have bought a wireless
It's actually hidden inside the guitar neck....well it is for the warriors of Rock guitar for PS3. I have one of these but no dongle so if anyone has one please let me know.
And this is an adapter for PS3 which allows the console to receive wireless signal from wireless guitar. I have 5 guitar hero guitars so before anyone nitpicks I am aware that this wireless dongle is for my Kramer Striker guitars. I have 2 working wireless receivers and am willing to swap if someone has a wireless USB dongle for a PS3 warriors of Rock guitar. Not the triangular shaped one but the little one which is identical to Skylanders Portal USB. The one which is hidden inside the neck which I included photo of above. Thanks
Receiver will not turn on for wireless guitar
I have torn 2 of these receivers apart and have ohm'd them out and found that the manufacturing process to put them together is very sub par.
On the two I had Capacitor c3 was off the board (smd). This is NOT a repairable problem if you don't have the low heat soldering equipment. Besides, you might correct one problem and find you have others because of the forceful procedures you have to do to get it apart.
Unfortunately the only thing you can do is buy a replacement (available at Red Octane's site[19.99]) or take a chance on EBAY sellers that claim to have the item [9.99].
Also, if you have a lot of time on your hands it is possible to hard wire the device (I do not have the pinouts). Pinouts should be online as I have seen several articles on it.
Hopefully I have given you some insight.

Dropped Notes
After some tinkering, I was able to fix this problem myself. When I detached the neck, I noticed that the spring-loaded pins from the guitar body had pressed hard enough on the thin contact points that they created holes that went through to the circuit board, thus causing the intermittent signal loss problems. A carefully applied drop of solder on each of the contact points in the neck has my controller now working flawlessly once again.
