it is the EA servers the best thing to do is keep your internet unhooked when playing mercenarys2

its acctualy problem with the EA servers you just need to shut down your console and un plug your internet cable then restart it and start the game it should work now if not then i agree with hulud86

You need to rent borrow or buy a cheap copy of army of 2 v1 the problem is ea servers. But if you get the above game put it in sign in to ea servers to play an online game mercs 2 will then work fine.

You "might" get it to work by downloading the army of two demo but if that fails you need the game.

same here. i even took it back and got a new mercs 2 and it still doesnt work. i guess its just the console.

i have the same problem. did you get your xbox 360 recently? cuz i got mine and my friend said its because the newer xboxes had an update and mercenaries 2 and a few other ea games arent compatable with it. message me on xbox live.

Well your disc is officially garbage because it's scratched for sure. Don't bother trying to fix your game disc. Do what I did. Go to sellitbroken.com and sell your game to them. They will give you good money for it.

Problem seems to be the XBOX Hard Disk Drive (HDD). Run the game and play it once for about 30 mintues, then try again with the HDD inserted. It should now work.

The problem seems to be a conflict with the HDD or with the EA servers, as the XBOX Live account will try to connect to the now dead EA servers for this 2008 title.

If all else fails, you will need a portable memory card, not the HDD to play this game. It's okay if this is the case. Create an offline profile. The game no longer connects to the EA servers anyhow.

I've just fixed this problem...
We bought a 2nd ps3 with mercs2 yesterday and had the same problem on the new system, even when using the other copy of mercs2 from my original ps3.
This 100% worked for me;
I loaded battlefield, bad company on the new system and accepted EA's online terms.
Then i started a quick game multiplayer match (don't be surprised if it doesn't connect 1st time as that occasionally happens anyway).
Then i quit bad company, banged in mercs2 and "jus like that" the freeze is gone and you can play online.
I have also read that this works with army of two also but i can't confirm that.

Download the demo of army of two accept ea's terms and conditions start game quit put mercs 2 back in and it should have sorted it but if not you need to borrow rent or buy the full game to get your problem fixed. This is the same problem as the freezing on the main menu.

Hire buy borrow a copy of army of two and put that in accept ea's terms and conditions load the game up then quit and put mercs 2 in this will sort the mercs 2 freeze problem when connecting to ea servers. Having had and donethis myself i know it works. It workson both 360 and ps3.

It's freezing as it tries to connect to the EA servers.
If you want to play single player, sign out of the PSN before starting the game. If you want to play multi-player, at the moment it seems you can't, join the club :(

I don't think you can verify him in the water but im not sure if you can get a boat and push him to a near by beach. What you should try to do is reload your most recent save before the incident so that you can retry the HVT.

Hey Malcandcooki, I have been playing MErks2 for a long time now...When u get this error, what you should do is, When loading to the main screen, continue your game, then have one of your friends join in, as soon as they have loaded into the game...exit, once done with this, get your friend to start his game, then join.
