20 Most Recent Yakima BigStack Kayak Rack Fall 2008 at Moosejaw Questions & Answers

I used the big stack for my river kayaks and it did fine. But my fiberglass sea kayaks are so much heavier that I did not take the chance. For 1 of my kayaks I spent a lot of money to get the special sea kayak rack and it worked great. For my wife's kayak I saved some money and bought some simple v-shaped foam rubber rack attachments for $20. The foam attachments are so much easier, I don't even use the Yakima attachemnts any more. My suggestion - save your money and go with the cheap foam attachments.

Water has much more resistance than air, therefore slower prop speed. Are you sure there is a problem? Or possibly if their is a problem, weak battery, or corrosion. Clean battery terminals first, then try in water.

Need to strip it down and check the motor or any seized parts.

Also check that you have a return as well as a live feed. IIRC, there is one live and two returns, one for up and one for down.

Google the model number and the words 'parts schematic'.

specifically or in general? Now single system depth finders are pretty rare as you know have GPS and Fish Finder properties and also plotters that will automatically steer the boat to destination. I have a Humminbird 998 with Side Imaging and all in HD. Side Imaging gives a 3D image of the bottom structure and objects.

There is no fuse box, they use inline fuses. Chase the wiring back to the battery, somewhere near the battery or the radio/fish finder will be a fuse on the power wire.

Check for a loose connection or corrosion at the transducer and the unit. Less likely, but bent or broken pin on the connector at the back of the unit. It always works until it doesn't, so that information is of no use.
